The handsome, and ever so dashing Captain of the Golden Dawn was always composed, calm, and amiable in the eyes of other people. He was a man you can't help but look at when he comes in the room.

His voice never faltered and so was his presence. 

If looks could kill, he would've killed you. If his presence could kill, you would've been long dead by now as well. Basically, you loved every aspect of this man like everyone in Clover Kingdom. The only problem was that when your eyes lock with him, he'll immediately look away as if the sight of you sickens him.

When reporting for your successful missions, this man wouldn't even spare you a glance when commending for your 'excellent' work. 

Yes, he treated you differently. But that difference is what makes it hurt the most.

As you were walking along the corridors of the base with Mimosa, Klaus, and Yuno, you happen to cross paths with him. The four of you greeted him, and you made sure yours sounded more livelier than theirs, "Good Morning, Captain Vangeance!" 

He greeted Klaus, Yuno, and Mimosa and only gave you a courteous nod and a closed-lip smile. Your heart sank at the interaction and your friends could only tap your back trying to remind you that they'll always be there for you.

There was even one time when you were seated across the Captain himself and he accidentally spilled his coffee. You didn't know why he did. Maybe he was distracted by something, and because of your kind nature, you stood up to give him tissue but he rejected it instantly.

Everyone in the squad could only look at you in sadness. Alecdora, who hated almost everyone the Captain was close with, even felt sorry—a little bit— for you. 

No one could deny the sadness your eyes showed whenever the Captain acted coldly towards  you. His demeanor was always kind and friendly so your self-esteem plummeted thinking that you were a being who didn't even deserve to live and breathe the same air as him.

Yuno, during your darkest times of despair, was always there for you. Through thick and thin he was ready to be with you. He was always full of surprises and would constantly show his appreciation for you in various ways every day.
