chapter 27: adoption

Marinette's POV

I waited for the end of the school day to come, but the day just seemed to drone on. Like an endless staircase leading you nowhere.

Nothing I tried would make the day flow faster. I talked to everyone, except Chloe of course. It was almost lunch, thank miraculous. That's when I was going to talk to mother.

*time skip*

"Mamman, can we have a talk?"

"Sure honey, what's on your mind?"

"Well there's this boy at school. He has dads eyes and your face. Heck he looks just like me. And I have deep feelings for him."

"So you love someone. J don't understand."

"Mom. It's different. It feels, well it feels like family."

"Tom! Come here please."

"What is it, dear?"

"Honey. She found out."

"O-oh."

For the first time, my father altered, which let me know this was serious.

"What do you mean?"

"You have a twin brother. We named him Nathaniel, but we could only afford one kid, so we put him up for adoption. It took a while, you guys were almost 2 when he got taken. "

"Oh my miraculous..." I whispered.

I told them I had to go and ran back to the school lunch area.

"NATHANIEL!" I yelled as I got there. Thank god there wasn't many people left.

"Mari? What the matter?" He cautiously came to me.

I hugged him, then cried into his shoulder. He was surprised at first. Then gave in and hugged me back. He pushed away and asked, "what's up?"

"Brother." I said to him.

Both our heads went back and eyes went white. We saw flashback of when we were a child. Playing together as our parents watched.

The day we where born, until the day he was taken away. Everything I couldn't see, came back to me. This, I don't even know what to call it, lasted a solid 10 minutes before it dissipated.

"What was that?" We asked at the same time, breathlessly.

"I'd sure like to know." Adrian snapped.

Oh no. I forgot about him.
