Why Me? [part 1]

chapter 6: broken attack

Marinette's POV

We decided to walk home from the movies. Being the gentleman he is he wanted to walk me home. When I looked into his emerald eyes, I couldn't resist.

He making puns, like a very special cat, which made me laugh so hard I cried.

"I can't believe that Alya and Nino didn't show up." Adrien said trying to get his golden hair out of his face.

"I know. Isn't it paw-ful that you had to hang out with me all night." I said holding back the giggles.

He just stood there shocked. He looked like he'd just seen a ghost. Jogging a bit to catch up with me.

"Did you just make a pun?"

"Yes. I think that Chat Noir is rubbing off on me." I said with out realizing what I said.

"Wait, you know Chat Noir?" He said, trying to recall visiting her.

"Um..." I had no time to finish because someone gabbed me from behind.
"Max! How many times have I told you not to do that." I yelled.

He ignored me and went up to Adrien. "Stay away from her Agreste. She's my greatest asset. I made her." I felt like he was going to continue so I interrupted.

"You know what Max, Adrien is the sweetest person I know. And I can choose where my life is, not you. We're done Max. For good this time." I yelled at him.

Before I broke down in tears, I grabbed Adrien's hand and dragged him out of sight from Max. As soon as I was sure that he couldn't see us, I finally broke. I whipped around and cried in his chest. To my surprise, he wrapped his arms around me.

When I thought I was done crying, I looked up. I didn't pull away. I just stood there in his arms. After a few minutes of calming myself down I wrapped my arms around his waist. He didn't object to this, he just rocked back and forth, my head lied by his collar bone. We stayed like this for a while.

*ladybug*

The bike flew over the building. I swiftly dodged. I told Adrien that I'd find a safe spot to hide, if he would of course. Which gave me a perfect excuse. The next thing to fly was a purple sports car. I dodged this too.

Soon I was joined by Chat Noir, Volpina, and Bleu. Not long after we captured the akuma.

I ran around the corner and detransformed back into Marinette. It was quite chilly so I ran home. I got in my room and slid onto my bed. The tears streaming down my red face, I began to cry.

I heard a tap on my balcony door. Walking over to it I opened it went back to my bed. My favorite kitty walked in.

"Chat Noir? What are you doing here." I said with wide eyes.

"Does a kitty need an excuse to visit his purrincess?"

"The puns are killing me." I said, the sadness returning to my voice.

"What is ever the matter my love." He said. Gosh he sounded old.

"Well I just broke up with my boyfriend. And I already have someone who has stolen my heart. I knew he had it since I first met him. He reminds me of my now ex and how we were when I first met him." I said with more tears fell.

Chat came over to where I was standing and wiped the tears off my face. Then he leaned closer and kissed where the tears were.

"So what should this person do to secure you. This person sounds like, er, well a close friend of mine. And he can't stop talking about you. I happen to know that he loves you with his full heart."

" really? But why me? When he could have anyone." The tears started rolling again.

"Don't say that. You are the most beautiful, kind, talented person I know." A smile was plastered on his face.

I hugged him, surprisingly he hugged back. We played down for a while, until I fell asleep.

Chat Nior's POV

She played peacefully on my chest. My ring beeped letting my know that Plagg was getting tired. I slid out of our comfortable position and left. I had to admit, it hurt me when she cried. But at least now I knew how she really felt.
