"So that's why I lost the head of my barbie." Melissa concluded all the while not meeting my gaze as I stare down at her.

We were discussing the issue of her being bullied in school and how her barbies head is missing.

I fold my hands with a raised eyebrow, "And I'm supposed to believe what you say because?"

She fiddled with her barbie and looked down at her lap.

"Because I say so. It's the truth Mel-Melody."

She stammered. Bingo.

I ran my hands through my straight hair with a deep sigh.

"Is it? Is it really?"

She nodded, head bobbing. I slapped my hand on the kitchen counter, making her jump.

I knew she was lying, she never could meet my gaze when she told a lie.

"Names, now." I demanded giving her a pointed stern stare.

"What are you going to do if I give 'em to you?" She sounded fearful knowing how ill tempered I was, just like my brothers.

"I am going to-"

"Wanna trade?" A smooth voice cuts me off.

We both turn to Kristen who was in her usual jean, shirt and black jacket that made her look like a total badass. She was slurping her diet coke with a long straw. Her hair in a high pony tail, strips of her long hair was fanning her angelic face.

"I'll, trade you my winter boots if you give me names." She smirked.

I frown, I had it under control! Did I ask fo her help?! I don't think so. My jaw tightened.

Melissa smiled slowly at the notion of recieving boots twice her size.

"James, Caroline and ....J-Jennifer" she replied stuttering as she reached the last name.

Kristina beamed. "Go get your boots. My doors open."

Melissa squealed and jumped off her high chair and dashes upstairs.

I scoffed. "I had it under control."

She sighed and refills another glass of coke from the fridge. She'd rather slurp it like a walking Instagram Coke ad rather than drink it straight from the can like us regular peasants.

"You have your names." She tossed the empty can into the trash. It landed and she wasn't even looking.

"What would she want boots your size for anyway?" I face palmed.

"Don't know, just be glad I helped"

"Yeah, but I didn't ask for help."

"I...is this about-"

"No, no it's not. Not everything we argue is about the past issues. You can't just waltz in here and expect to take everything thats mine. Melissa is my sister, if she has problems at school ill be the one to kick ass." I hissed and dropped my breakfast bowl in the sink, before brushing past her.

"I never asked to be here. I'm just trying to show my gratitude" She said calmy.

I rolled my eyes, "Well your gratitude sure is kind and thoughtful." I said sarcastically.

"I'm trying here and it's all going in vain, what do you want Melody Black. Figure it out." She snaps and walks out brushing past me roughly.

Shit. I had to keep my temper in check.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...whew.

I needed to walk it off at the beach.

I threw my jacket on and brushed my hair lightly with my fingers, pulling it out when it got caught in a knot. I brushed my hair last night, it was okay to survive two more days.
