Ch.18 Time Heals All Right?

Jordyn's POV: Its been 5 years since Brooklyn broke up with me. It wasn't easy getting over her and letting her go, but I had to. I can't be with anyone who has trust issues, especially if you haven't given them a reason to not to trust you. I do think about her from time to time though, she was like my Bestfriend. I would tell her anything. Once we broke up, I cut off all ties associating with her. Deleted my social medias, and changed my number. I wonder how she's doing? She's probably a doctor now.

Maya: baby you're doing it again
Jordyn: sorry Maya, what were you saying.
Maya: you wanna talk about it?
Jordyn: talk about what?
Maya: come on Jordyn, [Playfully shoving me] every since we've been dating you all drift into this place. And looks like you have the world stresses on your shoulders. You never talk about it. You'll plaster this smile on your face, and say you're okay.
Jordyn: I am okay sweetheart trust me
[Maya watches Jordyn carefully] I wish you'll open up to me more. We've been together for two years, and you're still a mystery to me.
Jordyn: Babe I talk to you about a lot of things
Maya: correction Jordyn, you talk to me about what you want me to hear. I wanna know the thoughts that makes pain come to your eyes. Is it her?
[Jordyn startled] Her who?
Maya: that Brooklyn girl, your girlfriend from college. I overheard you and Tia talking about her one day.
Jordyn: why didn't you say anything?
Maya shrugs* it wasn't my place, and I figured you would tell me when you're ready. But that's the same face you had, when you and Tia was talking that day. For a minute, I thought it was Tia who had you in your feelings.
Jordyn: there's not much to say about her. We were together in college for a year and 6 months, then she broke up with me. End of story. Then I met you a year later, when I was looking for my house in Jacksonville. And we've been strong every since.
Maya smiling* I remember you kept asking me on a date, and I told you no every time *laughing*
Jordyn laughing* clearly I'm not the one to give up.
Maya: clearly. I don't date soldiers period.
Jordyn: but you're here with me *smiling big*
Maya: you're not a ho, you're actually caring and thoughtful. I'm glad I did finally go, I love being with you.
Jordyn: and I love you being here with me too my love. [kissing Maya on the forehead]
Maya: I love you! Now get up and finish packing your bags. And I'm about to head home. I hope you have a great time visiting your family in Orlando, and enjoy your homecoming.
Jordyn: I'll try honey, be safe love you Maya Camiella.
Maya: *shaking her head giggling... love you too Jayy

[Brooklyn's POV]
Nurse Karen: Dr. Jones, can you look over these patient files and sign off on them before leaving today?
Brooklyn: yes Karen, they'll be finish by the end of the day. Promise *Brooklyn winks*
Oh and also we have some doctors from Camp Blanding's Army base coming to the hospital today. Just a heads up
Brooklyn: my day never seems to end does it Karen?
Nurse Karen: you're a hardworking doctor, we all depend on you. But at least you have a three week vacation after today. I hope you enjoy your homecoming.
Brooklyn: I'll try, let me head back to the office to get these papers signed for you.

*knocking at the door* come in
Dr. Jones, 1st Sgt. Williams is here from the base.
Brooklyn: send him in
Jordyn: Brooklyn??
Brooklyn freezes* Jordyn??
Brooklyn: Jordyn its you, brooklyn says in a whisper.
Jordyn: I didn't know you worked here, I didn't know you moved back to Florida.
Brooklyn: um... Yes after I received my masters, I didn't have a reason to stay in Georgia, so I moved back home. Applied to several hospitals, mostly in Miami. And Florida Hospital East Orlando called first so I took it.
Jordyn: you're still beautiful, not taking her eyes away from Brooklyn. I've only seen you wear your hair straight like once when we were together. I loved your curls
[Brooklyn blushing revealing her dimples] thank you Jordyn. Um yes, Brooklyn instinctively went up to touch her hair. My curls aren't in my face when I'm working, so I just wear it straight now.
Jordyn: are you going to homecoming?
Brooklyn: yes, I go every year
Jordyn: this will be my first homecoming since being back in the,states
Brooklyn: where are you stationed
Jordyn: Jacksonville! I have a house on base, its nice.
There was a knock at the door.
Come in! Hey baby,
Jordyn whipped around to see who the deep baritone voice was.
Oh hey my name is Benji, he extends his hands to Jordyn.
Jordyn: Jordyn Williams nice to meet you
Benji, kissing Brooklyn on the cheeks and holding flowers. Are we still on for our dinner tonight?
Brooklyn nervously, Benji you could have just called you know.
Benji: I know, I just wanted to see your beautiful face.
