In the town Captain Jared and Vivian enjoyed their night out. First, they went to a nice elegant place to eat. For the rest of the evening they went to the movies, visited a carnival, and doing other various activities. That included going to the bar where they met some drunken twins who made and absolute fool of themselves standing on the table singing along to the tune the bartender played. When they arrived back at the castle entering through the maids' chambers, Jared had Vivian in his arms.

"They were ridiculous," she said, referring to the crazy drunken twins they had met at the bar. They both roared with laughter.

"I hope you enjoyed yourself today." Jared said when the laughing subsided

"I did," she said, then gave a small kiss on his cheek.

"Well then, my lady, I must say good bye," he said playfully. She went along with it

"Well then good sir I leave you here and bid you goodnight." she said then they laughed.

"Well then, my fair lady, I say ado." He kissed her hand and left her with the tip of his hat.

She closed the door and leapt onto the bed and gave a great big sigh. The night was perfect. 'It could be like this all the time,' she thought. She began to day dream about this life. Then the King's words filled her mind once more. She would ultimately have to decide between the life she wanted and life of royalty that she despised the most. One could possible lead to her death and the other a lifetime of unhappiness that she will learn to hate and despised.

Fortunately, or unfortunately however you choose to see it. The next two months went by quickly for Vivian. Vivian had to keep up with her regular maid chore routine. On top of that she had to tend to all the extra things that came up for the holiday festivities which kept her extra busy. Because she was kept so busy, she had almost forgotten the whole ordeal that happened in the garden but, from time to time she would remember and think about it a bit.

Vivian hadn't seen the king ever sense that dreadful morning. In fact, he often would disappear along with the guards for long lengths of time. This made him very often unavailable and nowhere to be found for weeks at a time. The King's schedule being so booked for the past two months. For not only had he been busy with the guards and the war but with planning the upcoming holiday events such as the Christmas Eve ball as well. This made it very hard for Vivian to find him alone and have chance to have another decent conversation with him.

The King was preoccupied by the war in Europe though for it had escalated recently with an attack of a nearby kingdom that required some of the King's immediate attention. This was because of it being so close and the kingdom being an ally to New London that this was so important. weather it was planned the ball, the war, or being a parent to a child the poor man's work was never done. This made it very hard for Vivian or anyone to have a chance to talk to him.

In the rare moments that Vivian wasn't busy she found ways to occupy herself with self-inflicted chores or other various activities. This was not that hard to do for she could always find something with the holiday stuff and all. Still she did this as a means to avoid seeing Jared. This was because of the fact that if she did indeed have no choice in the matter. When it came to the King, she wanted things to be as painless as possible between Jared and her.

Plus, if the King caught wind of the two of them, she feared he would do the worst to Jared. In fact, just like the King people barely saw Vivian either. Sometimes they would manage to catch a glimpse of her in the halls as they passed each other but, no more than that. Things went along in this manner all the way to Christmas Eve. On that day While Vivian was in one of the many sitting rooms Loris managed to find Vivian crouching down in front of the fireplace cleaning it yearly that morning.
