Part 23 - He isn't the one

So far it's been the best birthday yet, surrounded by a few of your closest friends is the best feeling in the world. After everyone had pizza we all trooped outside and sat on a picnic blanket under the stars. I saw Lara whisper to Chris and he stood up and ran inside my house,
"Where is Chris going?" I asked Lara, she smirked and said nothing,
"Just leave him" Callum said, Chris came running out with his guitar out,
"Special song for special girl" Chris said, he strummed the first few notes and I immediately recognised the song,

"You look so wonderful in your dress, I love your hair like that, the way it falls down the side of your neck, down your shoulders and back"

Everyone has their phones out filming Chris singing and the whole time he was looking at me...

"Should this be the last thing I see, I want you to know its enough for me, cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need"

His voice made me shudder, it was beautiful,

Everyone was swaying to the music I couldn't help but sit there and admire him, his voice, his face, everything about him..

"You look so wonderful in your dress, I love your hair like that, and I'm a moment I knew you Beth"

Everyone clapped, he slung his guitar over his shoulder, I ran up to him and gave him a hug his arms snaked around my waist and pulled me closer, I saw a flash at the corner of my eye and spun around,
"MILA CASSIE" I said, they giggled and I sat back down next to Chris.
"Play another song Chris!" Lara demanded,
"I'm fine" Chris laughed,
"I know lets play truth or dare" Mila added,
"Chris go first!" I said, he rolled his eyes,
"Dare" he said smirking,
"Alright, take off your top and run around my backyard three times" Nathan said,
"Really?! There are little kids here" Chris whined pointing at Teddy,
"I'll cover his eyes " Nathan said putting his hand over Teddy's eyes, Chris took a deep breath and took his shirt off, I couldn't help staring,
Stop staring I said to myself,
"Start running!" Nathan shouted,
"You like that Leia?"
Ethan whispered,
"Shut up" I said hitting Ethan, Chris eventually ran three laps and sat back down panting, he put his shirt on and sat back down,
"CAKE TIME!" My mom shouted to us from the house, we all dashed inside the house and stood around the table, soon the lights turned off and everyone was singing happy birthday. I closed my eyes and made my wish (I'm not going to tell you my wish I'll tell you later on in this book) and blew my candles out.
"Hey can I talk to you?" Callum asked,
"Yeah sure" I said, he took me to outside my house on the porch and looked at me,
"So it's been a long time" he said quietly,
"Yeah it has" I said back,
"Did you miss me?" Callum asked,
"Of course it's different here in Sydney" I replied, he looked at me and took a step towards me,
"I missed you so much" he said quietly, I wasn't prepared for what he did next, he took the steps he needed to get to me and smashed his lips against mine, before I could push away I heard someone calling my name,
"Leia?" I turned around,
"Chris" I whispered, he stood there and I saw his face drop,
"Chris" I said again taking a step towards him,
"It's fine I'll leave you two alone" Chris said his head bowed and walking away, my heart felt like it was torn in pieces, I felt anger yet sadness,
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" I shouted at Callum,
"I just made you happy" Callum said,
"NO YOU HAVEN'T YOU MADE MY BEST FRIEND THINK THAT YOU AND ME ARE TOGETHER" I said as tears came from my eyes,
"HOW COULD YOU? I THOUGHT WE WERE BEST FRIENDS!" I shouted anger boiling inside me,
"Leia I-"
"GET AWAY FROM ME YOUR NO FRIEND OF MINE!" I shouted tears pouring down my face, Callum retrieved back into my house and I sat on my front porch, the tears just came down uncontrollably,
"Leia?" Lara said softly, she ran over and hugged me,
"What happened" she said softly,
"Callum kissed me and Chris saw" I sobbed,
"ETHAN!" Lara shouted, Ethan came dashing around my house,
"Leia?!" He gasped, he ran over and hugged me,
"Callum kissed her and Chris saw" Lara explained to Ethan,
"Don't worry I'll explain to him Leia" Ethan said,
"Let's go and wipe the tears off and get back to the others" Lara said guiding me back inside the house, I cleaned myself up in the bathroom and came back out looking fresh,
"Good lets go back to the others now" Lara said running out of the patio door, I ran after her and everyone was sitting on the picnic blanket listening to Chris playing the guitar again,

Everyone was silent, as Chris continued to play, I felt my heart break as he sung each note,

"I'm coming to see you with skylines and rear view, for streets that I used to know, I'm finding my way back home"

Everyone again had their phones out, but no one knew who the song was for,

"We burn strong and bright, some fires never die, I learnt my lesson one heartbreak too late this time"

I felt as if I was about to cry, Ethan saw my face and scooted over to me,
"It's alright Leia, he's just hurt that's all" Ethan whispered,

"And we were living, learning, laying in a bed that was burning, It's so hard when you're young and in love,We were trying, and fighting, holding on, laughing and crying, Cause that's what you do when you're young and in love"

His eyes met mine and and I could see the pain in his eyes the hurt, I couldn't help but look down, for I did something that I'd never do in a million years but I did it,

I hurt the boy I love.
