16 years later. . .
"Ariel!" Will shouted from afar. I straightened my posture and yelled back.
"I'm here!" Soon after, Will arrived at the opposite side of the garden. This was my favorite place. The flowers were all vibrant and blooming, the air was fresh, and the serenity was full in abundance.
Nothing could ruin this place for me, not even royal duties that I was forced to attend.
"Your mother's been searching for you, you might want to go now before she fetches an entire army." He gave me a boyish grin.
Will always had that characteristic, boyish. From his grey eyes to his brown locks which were all mussed about.
"Oh dear, what has she been requesting me for this time?" I failed to keep the amusement out of my voice.
"You have a tea party with other princesses and queens in just under an hour. Aren't you going to go get ready?" He asked once he noticed that I stayed in my same position.
"I suppose," I said with a sigh, "I must have lost track of time again." Will chuckled at my behavior. A faint blush tinted my cheeks.
Will always knew how to make the blood rush to my porcelain face.
"Alright, just try not to daydream during your royal affairs." He teased. I laughed at him. Will was something else.
"You know I try." I said with a flash of my pearly white teeth.
We waved goodbye and I rushed to my bedroom to start getting ready. Well, I didn't do any of the work. The servants helped me do most of it - all of it really.
My room was simple yet elegant. The walls were painted with various things I had felt like drawing at the time, but flowers were what mostly adorned my walls.
I was inspired by the castle's garden whenever painting. My bed was made of red oak, with a mattress flown in from some exotic place that I couldn't remember.
There was a mosquito net that had a tint of pink as to add the aura of a girl's presence. I think it worked quite well.
"Miss Ariel, are you ready for your dress?" Anna had asked with her head peaking in the door.
"Of course! You always pick the loveliest dresses!" I beamed. It was the truth. Anna had always picked my dresses because she knew exactly what I liked.
"Right away my lady." She curtsied and brought in a beautiful gown. It had a sweetheart neckline to match the sweetness of the butter cream white it was compared to.
Pearls and flowers covered the waist area and flowed out into the skirt. I absolutely loved it. I especially loved the way the sleeves were see through, and had flower designs all throughout the sleeves.
"What do you think?" She asked with nervousness. Ariel didn't understand why she was so nervous. Anna never had trouble picking out dresses.
"Anna, you know that I always love the dresses you choose." I told her with truth dripping from my words.
She nodded gratefully before preparing me for the tea party I was attending quite soon. She brushed my golden hair and added a light red lipstick.
Once she put on my white shoes, I was already five minutes late. I just knew that the other ladies would chastise me for my behavior. I walked gracefully to the patio where the tea party was being held. I may have been going slow for a person who was already late, but I was not going to be chastised for incorrectly walking.
I spotted a group of well dressed ladies chatting among themselves until my mother spotted me.
"Darling! Where on earth have you been? We have been waiting for you." She said in a worried tone. I felt the heat rush to my cheeks as I gave her an explanation.
