Anyone who has watched Frozen will know that one of the biggest shocks of the movie was when Hans revealed himself to be EVIL. "What? I never saw that coming!" you cried. "There was no indication, no clue that Hans was not the one for Anna!"

Actually, you would be wrong.

There are several (subtle) hints throughout the movie that KRISTOFF (yes, the brilliant blonde ice harvester who doesn't get half the attention he deserves) is a much better candidate for Anna's heart than Hans was.

While singing 'For the First Time in Forever,' Anna speaks of her desire to meet 'a beautiful stranger tall and FAIR," 'fair' meaning blonde. Hans may be tall, but he is not blonde. Who is blonde? Kristoff (and he's tall as well. Kristoff ticks all the boxes).

Shortly after Elsa freezes the fjord, Hans and Anna walk back to the castle together as snow starts to fall. Anna shivers from the cold, but Hans selfishly pulls his jacket closer to increase HIS warmth, not Anna's. In comparison, when Anna shivers while she and Kristoff are riding back to Arendelle on Sven, Kristoff selflessly gives Anna his hat (which she then proceeds to carelessly lose in the next five minutes, but whatever).

Not to mention that by the time Kristoff leaves Anna with Hans, you are kicking and screaming at your TV for a happy ending for the poor guy. Come on, whose heart DIDN'T melt when he just smiled at Anna and said, "Don't worry about me"?

On an interesting endnote, Kristoff and Hans have a cut interaction at the climax of Frozen. Originally, after Anna blocked Hans's sword swipe at Elsa, Hans was to scoop up the remnants of his sword to take down Elsa (who was at that moment sobbing on her sister's frozen figure, oblivious to the world around her) in Round Two. However, Kristoff was to run up and punch Hans, knocking him out and saving the day. Sadly, this awesome scene got cut, because it would have taken too much attention away from Anna and Elsa and (sigh) I have to admit it was the right decision to make.

But I like to think that it still happened. When Anna confronts Hans after the Big Thaw, he is moaning and groaning, rubbing his jaw. Hans fell on his back after Anna froze, not his face. Which makes me wonder if a certain someone DID punch the Southern Isles Prince . . .
