Another musical outtake!
"Life's Too Short" was supposed to be sung where "For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)" sits in the movie. Both are made from the same formula.
The two bear similarities: Anna has finally arrived at Elsa's ice castle and is asking her via song to come home, only things spiral downhill and escalate to Elsa's accidentally freezing Anna's heart.
However, in this version, Elsa is more . . . chill ;-) She is happy to rekindle her and Anna's relationship and doesn't have a breakdown. But the sisters also get into a harsh fight near the end of the song and say some very hurtful things.
I can see why it got cut: it's kind of light for the scene and some of the things that Anna and Elsa say to each other just aren't them. But it is still one of my favorites!
"Life's Too Short" also references the "prophecy" explained in the outtake: "Spring Pageant" I've written a chapter on a little while back.
