9. Not what we expected

"Your book sir?" I looked at him confused
"Yes. My book, you are the only one I showed it to and you are the only one who knows where it is kept. I also realised that the key to my house was missing, it's good that I can pick a lock." He looked directly into my eyes piercingly

"I would choose my next words carefully Rebecca, where is my book?" he tapped his forefinger on his desk As he leaned against it.

" I told you already sir, I don't have your book" I moved back as he walked towards me, grabbing my bag he took out my notebook.

"That's an invasion of privacy sir!" My eyes were wide as I took in what he was doing yet my body couldn't move to stop him, I wanted it to move but it didn't"

He flicked to the page of my drawing.   "Do you know why I've been keeping an eye on you since you drew this?"
He looked at me for my answer and I shook my head "I've been keeping an eye on you because I was sent here to, you're probably wondering to where was I sent from, well assuming you have my book you must've read it and you know about worlds aligning, but I don't think you know what that means do you?"

He looked at me again this time I gave him no answer. " hmmm well it means darkness, it means death and I need that book to stop that, do you understand? Ms Townsend I need that book"

He looked at me again with those same piercing eyes that now looked familiar yet didn't. And as crazy as it sounded he was telling the truth the whole time. Just how important is that book, darkness? Death?

" the book is very important and everything I said is true but you know that already don't you Ellie?"
I froze.
Ellie.
That name.
My shaking hand reached up around my neck to hold the chain that was always there. I heard him gasp.
"That chain." His voice held a certain emotion that I couldn't decipher.
"That name, you called me that name, no one knows that name. Not my friends, only me amd mum and she never calls me that. Who-Who are you?" My voice shook as I took another step back
"Do you remember who called you that? Do you remember who called you Ellie?"

"Ellie? Where's my little Eliza gone to huh?" A giggle came from behind the curtains and the tall man turned toward it. Drawing back the curtains he found a little girl looking up at him with bright grey eyes and a big smile on her face.
"Ah I found you now Ellie!" He picked her up and tickled her. Her shrieks of laughter filled the room
"Uncle Simo stoooop" she hiccuped as she giggled some more

Rebecca snapped out of it and stared at the man before her. She knew but was hesitant.
Taking a deep breath "Uncle Simo?"
