Chapter 22
"Oh, Claire, I'm so excited to meet him again," my grandma says.
I nod my head with a smile. "He seems excited too."
Jen grabs plates from the cabinets and helps us set the table for dinner. She's been helping around the kitchen since we started making dinner. Well, since my mom and grandma started making dinner.
I really hope Andrew doesn't say anything completely inappropriate or stupid like I have a feeling he will. By the way he was grinning earlier, he has to be planning something.
Or he is trying to scare me and force me to overthink something I don't need to.
The doorbell rings around the house and I jump straight up. "I'll get it!" I tell the whole house.
Kyle is running to the door, purposely making sure I do not get to the door in time. He opens the door with a smirk and Andrew walks in, snowflakes sprinkled on his hair and shoulders.
"It's snowing out there?" Kyle looks out the window and nods his head.
"When is this place not snowing?" Andrew remarks.
Kyle runs up the stairs to help Jen with setting the table. I walk down to Andrew and wrap my arms around him, preventing him to finish removing his shoes.
My lips kiss an area near his shoulders and I feel him completely freeze. I must be turning him on.
"God, Claire bear," he whispers, making me stop. "You're the tease."
We kiss a couple seconds at a time, me almost falling completely backward a couple times. The stairs is a weird place to kiss, but it's basically our only privacy in this house at the moment.
"Claire, is that Andrew?" My mom calls from the kitchen.
"They're probably making out on the stairs," Kyle says, most likely smirking at his comment.
I grab his hand and lead him up the stairs for the dinner I'm now dreading. He said he'd make a good impression, but he said if with a smirk on his face. That means nothing good at all.
"Grandma," I say, tugging Andrew to my side. "This is Andrew."
She embraces him, taking him by surprise. "It is so great to be reacquainted with you. Claire seems crazy about you."
God, Grandma...
Andrew smirks down at me. "It's great to meet you again too."
She turns to the table and continues smiling us.
Andrew presses his lips to my jaw and says against it, "Crazy about me, huh?"
My arm arounds his torso and I laugh. "Maybe just a little bit."
Or maybe a lot. Maybe I'm falling even more flat on my face in love with you. Maybe I want to hear you say you love me when I'm not supposedly asleep.
Just maybe.
During dinner, Jennifer talks to my grandma the most, but girls get to know girls much better. Kyle seems as if Jennifer means a lot to him and I'm proud that he's found someone that he likes again. Possibly even loves.
