( Stanford's P.O.V )

I found myself a few blocks down from the mall looking for (F/N). She wouldn't have gone into any type of store or back alley to hide. It was too easy to be found.

Then again, it wasn't easy in a big city like this.

My other choice was the surrounding forest, which just happened to be a National Forest. And even better, I knew it like the back of my hand.

Blindly, I ran into the forest with no protection for the rain. A jacket or raincoat wouldn't have done any good. Rain beat down through the trees and sent daggers into my arms. The world was covered in a dark blanket. Most would mistake it for night.

My glasses kept blurring my vision, so I shoved them into my pockets and kept moving on. Water soaked me to the bone, aching each step and breath.

I didn't dare stop. She needed someone.

And the feeling in my chest contaminated my whole being.

I went deeper and deeper into the forest, trying to find the only one I knew who didn't reject me.

Despite the situation, I smiled. We were both rejects.

I was rejected by my fellow peers and even strangers. Because of the birth defect. They would call me a freak or ask why my parents brought me home from the circus. If they didn't reject me because of physical, it was the mental. I always made the highest grades in every class. I made everyone jealous. Not that I cared, but even the nerds abandoned me. If I didn't have Stanley, then I would have been all alone.

(F/N)... She was rejected by her parents. Always suffering from their abuse. She told me people stayed away because of the bruises and the scars. Then again, she couldn't trust anyone. Her parents ruined that.

Ever since that night, when she cried and told me everything, I haven't asked. I didn't want to be another source of her pain. I want to be her sanctuary. Her safe haven. I want her to trust again. To show her that not all humans are evil and cruel. Most of them don't know how to handle a human life. I'm not exactly sure that I do, either.

   But I'm going to try.

The woods kept getting darker as I went. Time kept passing on, and I kept worrying.

What if I don't find her? What if she's in trouble? Did she get kidnapped? Did she pass out?! Is she stuck somewhere?! Wait, what if-!!!

Something ran into me with enough force to knock me down. It landed on me, and I felt it breathing and trembling heavily. It was too dark to see anything, but the body shape was familiar. Kinda small.... And soft, now that I looked for it.

"Stanford?!" (F/N) said, her voice shaking. It was shaking too much.

"Yes, (F/N) its me!! What are you running from?!" I asked, standing up and helping her up as well. She was okay!!! Relief flooded through me.

From what I could see, she froze. Fear radiated from her eyes and shook her.

"Stanford, we have to run. NOW." She said, taking my hand. I stopped her.

"I will protect you! You don't need to run, you always run!!" I protested as she tugged on my arm.

"Well, this time its different!!! Its a SUPERNATURAL BEING. WE NEED TO RUN!!" She was shaking even harder now.

I froze, watching her. She was begging me. And I've never heard her do such a thing.

   What was this thing..?

   "Alright." I said quietly.

We began to run. Despite the cold needles from the sky. Despite the rumbling of the thunder or the crashing from the lightning. Despite all of the mud throwing itself against us. Despite the surroundings. Despite what was chasing us.

   We ran.

To aid us, we used the occasional flash of lightning. It acted as our guide. Aside from myself. Although, I had no clue why she let me lead. I'm blind. But I just kept moving. I would carry her if I had to!

"Stanford." She gasped. "Are you a-alright?" Her voice came out as an airy whisper.

"I'm fine, (F/N). However," I paused to breathe. "Y-you have been in this longer. Can you m-make it?"

"Just. Keep. Going." She panted as we carried on.

If we both get sick, this is going to be an awful mess.

( Your P.O.V )

You were terrified and Stanford could feel it. Bill Cipher was of the supernatural realm and you knew you only stalled. He was going to catch up to you. And now, Ford was with you and he risked getting hurt as well.

The storm never lightened up. And it was too dark to see if there was a place to rest. You just wanted to get warm. Your body was slowly going numb. It was also growing tired. But the risk was too late to stop.

The lightning became more frequent. Rain fell even harder. Thunder constantly roared. A dark cloud enveloped your heart.

"Promise me something." He said, squeezing your hand.

  "No matter what happens..."

   He never finished his sentence.

Because at that moment, lightning struck a nearby tree and got him as well. Your arm was burned as you were sent back, rolling on the ground.

Everything around you went black for a moment before everything began to glow in a yellow hue.

Kid.

You.

  Just.

   Made.

    A.

     Big.

      MISTAKE.
