Delilah's POV:
I woke up the next morning with an ache in my neck. I looked around to see that I had fallen asleep on my couch last night. Suddenly all the memories of last night came flooding back to me. I rested my head in my hands and massaged my forehead. I got up and decided to just get myself ready for the day.
I went to my room and grabbed my towel then I made my way to the bathroom. I shut the door and turned on the shower allowing it to heat up. By the time I was undressed the water was nice and warm. As the heat ran down my body I felt relaxed and calm. Showers were so great. They help you think clearly and just give you like a time out from life. I thought back to last night and I remembered how I had to make Logan leave. He looked so confused. I had to explain to him what happened. I'll call him later today. Then my thoughts drifted to Josiah. What did he mean I don't need him? Of course I need him he's my best friend but he's been acting like a jerk lately and I don't know why. I'm still so confused. I'm not sure if I still have feelings for him. I mean I've liked him for the past two years. Am I ready to just give up on that? But I have to constantly remind myself that he has a girlfriend. I have no chance with him. He doesn't even see me that way. Maybe it is time to get over him. Easier said than done.
I turned off the water and wrapped myself in a towel. I walked to my room and put on some decent clothes. I plopped myself down on my bed and just shut my eyes thinking about what I should do next. I finally decided that I needed some kind of distraction from what happened with Josiah. And I chose Logan to be my distraction.
"Hey!" I said enthusiastically into my phone as I called Logan.
"Delilah?" I heard him ask confused.
"Who else would be calling you?" I just loved to tease him.
"Good point." he said chuckling. "What's up?"
"I'm just here at my house being bored and wondering what you're doing."
"I'm not doing anything. Just watching some t.v. Nothing special."
Perfect!
"Interestingggg."
"What are you thinking?"
"Well since your not doing anything and I'm not doing anything, why don't we do nothing together?"
"I like that idea. I'll come over right now."
I could hear the excitement in his voice and I could tell that he was probably biting his lip in that adorable way that I liked.
"I'll be waiting."
He laughed then he hung up. I had no idea what we would do but I didn't really care. I just needed to get my mind off things. I just wanted to have fun without getting into some kind of argument. Which was how it had been with Josiah lately. We were all cuddly and huggy one minute and the next we are screaming at each other. Not to mention that we almost kissed. What was that about? He kept leaning in and I couldn't find it in me to pull away. Heck! I even started to lean in! It's just that when I'm with Josiah I forget what I'm supposed to do or what I'm supposed to feel and I just can't control myself. He has this hold on me that I just can't shake. It's like even if I tell myself not to I still do it because I don't care whenever I'm with him. I lose my sense of reason. I'm in a trance whenever he looks at me and when I stare into his eyes. God! He just makes me so crazy! I'm at a war with myself and I'm not sure what to feel.
My thoughts are cut short when I hear the doorbell ring. I jump up from my bed and rush down the stairs to the front door. I swing it open and I see Logan smiling at me wearing blue jeans a white shirt and a black leather jacket. His hair isn't styled, its left to fall freely on his face, but surprisingly I like it. A smile spreads across his face showing off his incredibly adorable dimples. I put on my best fake smile as I was still thinking everything over.
"Hey!" he said pulling me into an unexpected hug.
I wrapped my arms around his waist an buried my face in his chest.
"Hi," my voice was muffled considering that we were still hugging.
I pulled back but Logan still had his hold on me. He looked at me and another smile spread across his face.
"You look nice."
I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing some if my favorite sweats and an oversized t-shirt that went down to my mid-thigh. I wasn't really dressed to impress. I laughed.
"You're such a liar!"
"No I'm serious! But are you going to change because I thought that we could go out somewhere."
I rolled my eyes and shoved him slightly and he chuckled.
"Well you never told me that we were going anywhere."
"It was a last minute decision."
"Okay fine. You could come in if you want." I said as I gestured to the inside of my home. He stepped inside and took a look around. He seemed impressed.
"You can wait here while I change, okay?"
"Yeah sure," he said as he took a seat on my sofa.
I rushed upstairs and to my room. I started to sort through my drawers and in my closet for some nice clothes. I settled on some blue skinny jeans and a plain gray shirt that goes down to my waist. I quickly brush through my hair leaving it in natural waves. Before leaving my room I grab some shades and put them on my shirt to use later.
I start to run down the stairs but I stop as I see Logan looking at the picture on my wall. I slowly come up behind him to see which one he's looking at. I peer over his shoulder to see a picture of Josiah and I. His arm is over me and I'm holding his wrist. We are both sticking our tongues out making silly faces. That was such a great day. We went to the movies and we had gone out for some food and ice cream. We got in trouble for getting back so late. We took the picture after the movie. I smiled at the memory.
"We took that last year when we were on summer break," I said explaining.
"You guys are really close," he said looking back at me. His eyes were searching mine for some kind of an answer.
"Yeah we are, but it wasn't always like that."
"What happened?"
Memories of the past flashed before my eyes, so I shut them to try to make them go away but they were still there. I took a deep breath and remembered where I was. I opened my eyes and looked Logan in the eyes.
"It's a rather long and pretty stupid story."
He gave me an understanding look.
"Maybe you can tell me it another time?"
I thought about telling him. I wasn't sure at first but as I looked into his eyes I had a feeling that I had to tell him at some point. I nodded and took another look at the picture.
"Well we should get going if we actually want to do something fun."
"Yeah you're right."
I followed Logan out of my house and locked the door behind me. I turned to face him as he took my hand and led me to his car. I sat down and put my shades on prepared to go wherever.
