Its mid June.
The moonlight struck the land brightly, the stars shone in the pitch black sky. Twinkling so far away from us, I smiled and said ‘It’s time.’
I could hear the thoughts coming from the others, their icy, cold, stone filled bodies stood behind me. ‘Meet back here, Spread out’ I gave the order -before we departed going our own ways-
I walked onto the concreted floor, the air filled with the stench of garbage. The silence surrounded me while my heels ticked and tacked with every step I took. Red heels just like the blood of hopeless humans.
The males’ chuckle grabbed my attention; I licked my lipstick smothered lips. My head turned in their direction and walked towards their mumbling, chuckling voices. I heard a scream. Another human. Dead. The scream slowly muffled and died out. Just like the poor soul that was in the human. Died out.
From where I was standing the ally looked pitch black, I smiled ‘I’ve always liked mystery’ I whispered to myself and walked in. Not hesitating. Around two minutes later…
‘Who’s there?’
A gruff male voice said. I knew he was standing a distance, yet I could still smell his blood. Sweet, fresh, alcohol filled blood. I could see him but he couldn’t see me. The darkness hid me but my prey was shone down with a street light’s light. He looked confused with a beer bottle in his hand. His red, warm jumper and rugged jeans clothed him.
A screeching noise came from not far away. Yet, another life was taking away. Before I left the castle I remembered my master saying ‘Two screams and it’s your turn.’ That last scream was the second one.
‘My turn’ I said…
Stepping out of the darkness, my prey wasn’t alone. More dinner for me. His mates were sitting around a fire –most likely lighten by a lighter- on upside down garbage cans. Smoking something. Puffing away like trains. I smiled. My prey and his mate’s eyes widened and they smiled wickedly. Slowly they got up from their trash can seats and came to join the ring leader.
‘and who are you pretty lady?’ The ring leader asked hoping a reply.
I smiled and the once hidden crimson from my eyes was now visible.
‘Cool contacts babe.’ The ring leaders mate slurred out of his drunken mouth.
I came closer and a slight shiny spark shone from my tooth.
‘You got grillz boo?’
My fang sunk down from my gums. They backed up a bit and the ring leader decided to run.
‘wrong move buster’ I thought to myself before grabbed his neck and pushing him to the concrete floor. My nails gripped his flesh leaving small marks that will heal by that tomorrow. But… there is no tomorrow for him. I dug my sharp, saber tooth, tiger teeth into his flesh. Sucking on his neck as if I was giving him a hickie. His cry was muffled by my hand and it soon died out.
His mates stood their shocked, knowing they were next. I smiled and a drop of blood fell from my fang.
‘Please don’t’ one begged.
I felt sorry for him but my hunger got the better of me. My eyes flashed crimson and I smiled again. I could feel their fresh blood pumping in their bodies.
‘I haven’t had this feeling in a while’ I said slowly approaching their scared souls.
‘Please, we beg you… don’t hurt us’
They cried out in mercy before trying to escape.
‘Mama always told me to never play with my food… but what’s so bad about chase me… till you kill me.’
I chuckled and smiled and chased after my glorious meal.
Their cries died just like their bodies. No longer filled with motion. Their bodies no longer consisted of blood… all drained out just like their life.
I met up with the others where I told them too. Deep in the forest.
‘Where were you?’
‘Busy, drinking’
He chuckled and we walked back… back to the master.
