POV OF SHAGGY:How many times have you had a special day? I don't think I've ever had a really special day. Like a day where everything goes right, or a day where everything goes wrong. I want one of those days, and it seems like I might already have one.
The launch is today. It's all everyone's ever been able to talk about. It's as if someone set our minds to only think and speak about one thing. If that did happen, it's contagious. I've been talking non-stop to Dora about the launch. But who wouldn't? It's so exciting! We're finally going to launch B15Q into the living space up there.
We're going to find the worlds beyond the stars.
There's only one thing. As much as my hopes and dreams and aspirations and inspirations all evolve, and will continue to evolve, around this one event, there is only one thing. I'm seventeen. And I need to be eighteen.
So that's why I formulated a plan.
As soon as the words of my genius plan entered Dora's ears, she threw her blonde head back and laughed. I was welcomed with either a 'Shaggy! That's stupid!' or a 'Shaggy! That's brilliant!' Today, however, is going to be one of those special days where everything goes wrong, so goodbye to eighteen-year-old Shaggy and hello to reality Shaggy.
I'm going to have to wait as the eighteen-year-olds make their way to the craft, climb into it and embark a journey of a lifetime. Literally. Who knows how long it takes to get up there? Who knows how long it takes before you die? Who knows if there really is anything up there?
Who knows?
