The last good friend Alfred had up to that point was a boy referred to as Davie. He was the only close friend that was human. When they first met years ago, Alfred was delighted to have a new friend. Davie and Alfred became pretty close since unlike Arthur and Mathew, Davie lived in America. Davie had a dream: to see a rare blue flower, a type of flower not found in the New World. Alfred made it his life's mission to deliver that flower to Davie. He searched his land, searched all over. One day when Arthur visited, the older nation found out about Alfred's quest and told him that back at his place they grow. He promised Alfred that the next time he would return he would bestow a bouquet to Alfred. Over time Davie grew older and the relationship between the two began to fade.

Ultimately, a human's life can only carry on for so long.

When Arthur brought the flowers for Alfred, Alfred was so happy to finally make Davie's wish come true – but sadly it was too late. While Alfred still had the appearance of a young boy, Davie aged into an old man over the course of time and eventually passed away before his wish could be granted.

Their relationship could be described in one word: mournful

Humans come and go quickly. Nations live on for centuries.

It was that day Alfred vowed to not establish a tight bond with another human ever again.
