One stormy night while Amelia was writing in her diary Alfred paid a visit to her room. He sat down on the edge of the bed; Amelia gazed at him wondering what his intentions were.

"Is everything okay Alfred?" Amelia questioned, noticing Alfred's pained look on his face.

"Yeah...yeah everything is okay." Alfred said, glancing at the window where the downpour was now pelting the glass.

"Alfred I know you all too well, I know when something is troubling you. Just tell me what it is, you can trust me." Amelia stated, setting her diary down.

"The city is changing. Our surroundings, and even ourselves. And then one day, just about everything will change..." Alfred responded.

"Isn't that what you're hoping for, a change?

"Yeah...it's just... I'm worried WE will change, I am already losing one sibling and I don't want to lose another after this." Alfred replied, looking at his little sister.

" Alfred... you will never lose me, we are in this together until the end – I promise I will never leave you, I am a part of you and you are a part of me, in order to survive we must always support one another."

"Don't say that! That's exactly what Arthur said to me all those years ago and look where we are now!" Alfred hissed, tears now forming in his sapphire blue eyes.

It was at this moment when Amelia reached over and hugged her brother. She hated seeing him this upset but she knew this was Alfred's battle to fight. Alfred looked down at his sister and couldn't help but smile as he hugged her back.

"Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. You make me so happy. I don't want you to be lost or afraid or anything like that. From here on out, I know things might be hard sometimes. But no matter what may await, please don't regret meeting me." Alfred pleaded.

"I love you Alfred."

"I love you too, and don't you ever forget that." Alfred smiled, jumping off of the bed and heading towards the doorway, wiping his eyes. Before he left he turned around to say one last thing to his sister.

"Our journey starts, on this long, long steep slope." Alfred concluded, shutting the door behind him.
