I make a wax lady cry

The lyre bell sounded. Me and Payton ran out to the hallway. We both grabbed winged sandals from the communal basket and zoomed to the front. We flew side by side as we flew down to the cloud Line, halfway between Mount Olympus and Earth. We then saw the entrance to the Immortal Market Place and skidded to a stop. I tied some ropes around my wings so I could walk at a normal speed.

"Remind me again: why are we here? Shopping?" He guessed.

"For our chariots, Water boy. If we wanna win, stocking up would be a good idea." I replied.

"You're the boss, wise girl." He said.

"Hephaestus Items and trinkets!" I said. I dragged him to the shop and opened the door.

Instantly, I started burning. The heat was so intense. Maybe because you needed heat to shape the metal. I walked up to the wax statue at the register.
"Um, we're looking for something to use on a chariot." Payton said.

"Specifically, something good on the tracks. Everyone knows that trajectory times the-" I said.

"Poseidon's son and Athena's daughter. I would expect to see you two stop by for chariot stuff." The register said.
My mom invented the chariot while Poseidon created horses out of the crests of waves. We were gonna own that track.
It was the only thing Athena and Poseidon cooperated on.

"Chariot trinkets are over there." She said and pointed to the right.

Shelves upon shelves were enchanted wheels, a necklace to summon horses, an invisibility chariot (I know because I bumped into it), and even a teleportation spell to distract a nearby chariot.

Payton picked up the necklace. He clasped it around his neck and rubbed it. "Sweet," he said, "It summons horses when the necklace is near water."

"I know why. See that symbol on the front? It's a trident. It's part of Poseidon Inc." I explained.

"Hey, Artemis supplies here. Check out that dog." He gestured to the golden enclosure with a sleeping hound.

I walked over to it and opened the cage. The dog ran out of the cage and circled around the store. It spotted a metal cat on the counter and jumped at it. The wax employee shielded the cat.

"No way, èxypni! Hephaestus's gonna melt me if you ruin one more trinket!" The wax lady warned, although her voice was a little shaky. She had just called the dog èxypni, which was Greek for "Smart". The wax lady shined a light in the dog's eyes and he ran away.

Èxypni was probably blinded from the light so he tumbled into the other wall, causing shields and automatons to crash down. The wax lady was crying melted wax tears, like someone put a flame near her eyes and they started to melt.

"Stàsi!" I commanded, which was also Greek for "Stop".

Èxypni walked towards me then sat at my feet. I heard a click sound as Payton took a picture on his IDemi.

"Delete that." I said, stroking Èxypni.

"No way. I'm sending this to Iris to send to the Gods. Do you have a gold drachma or two, perhaps?" Payton said, typing on his phone.

Èxypni leaped to Payton and snatched his IDemi. He ran into the back room. We followed him in, despite Wax Lady's pleads not to.

Èxypni stood dangerously near one of the fires and dropped Payton's IDemi into the pit.

"That was a birthday present!" Payton wailed.

I bought Èxypni the cat.
