I opened the doors to the dancing hall and heard music being DJ'd by Aiden. The Dancing Hall was a new building recently added for parties. It was made of Quartz and had huge pillars as the walls except for one side that had a marble wall. It was probably big enough to host all of Olympus in their divine forms, which is 9 feet tall each person.

Atlas the pig was near the snack table, standing in his hind legs to wolf down some snacks. Abby's lovers all had numbers on them and were standing in a line. Once #17 was finished, she smiled at him then shouted, "Next!"

#17 walked away as #18 strolled over to Abby, blushing like mad.

Paisley was talking to Hallie, daughter of Hades. The two were almost sisters, since Paisley's mom is married to Hades. Abigail ran across the room, chasing her dogs who grabbed hold of her bow. But I was here for one person.

Payton.

He had asked me to the dance earlier and I had said yes. He was over with his GodBoy friends, acting like I didn't exist.

I straightened my pink chiton and readjusted the gold belt Abby let me borrow. I finger combed my hair and gave my best smile. But nothing. Sometimes GodBoys can be so- o- o insensitive.

He glanced at me then turned towards me. His GodBoy friends pushed him towards me. He blushed as he walked to me.
"You look beautiful, Ariana." He said.

"Here." He fumbled over a sheathed sword. I faked enthusiasm. A dance and he brought me a weapon? I unsheathed it and found that it was instead flowers.

"I even found some Lilacs. I know they're your favourite flowers." He said.

I smiled, happy that he wasn't thinking about war. Until he handed over a hairpin.

"Hephaestus Forges made it. It's also a sword. Matches your shield." He tapped my bracelet.

A student ran over to Aiden. "Okay, OH! If you can hear me, say 'Oh, yeah!' "

"Oh, yeah!"

"I can't hear you! "

"OH, YEAH!"

"We have a request coming on so grab a partner and let the night begin!" Aiden said. My favourite slow song started playing.

"May I have this dance?" Payton said. I'm glad the torches on the pillars hid my blushing. I nodded as we headed to the dance floor.

He put his hand on my waist as I wrapped mine on his shoulders. I looked at the Punch bowl or perhaps the torches and maybe Abigail fumbling over guests to get to her bow, anything but the fact that my hand were sweaty, a burp was rising in my throat, and that I had recently grown an inch taller than Payton. At least Paisley was having an awesome night. She was awkwardly dancing with Hallie, bumping hips and twirling every so often to hide the fact that they had no dates. Abby was already with lucky #23. Ashton was at the snack bar, bathing every single candy apple in pig drool and slobber.

I wrested my head on his chest. He pulled me closer. I looked back up at him. My lips were almost a millimetre away from his until he pushed me back. "I'm sorry."

He raced outside the pavilion. I followed him outside.

He sat down on a bench. "Why did you even ask me out if you don't even like me?" I said.

"Because you're my friend. You know how it goes: Girl and boy fall in love, boy or girl try too hard, break up. We're great friends and all but I don't wanna have this crisis where I change myself for some GoddessGirl. I don't wanna pretend like I know you. Relationships can be confusing. GoddessGirls can be harder to understand than the Oracle at Delphi."

Tears ran down my cheek. "Ugh! I thought we could be something more than friends! You GodBoys only care about yourselves! It's hopeless! You're just too............... too................. ugh!" I swung the bouquet at Payton, with pinpoint accuracy since I was on girl's baseball in my old school, as I stormed into the pavilion.

"Ariana, wait!" He called.

"May Aphrodite curse you!" I yelled.

Suddenly, a black shadow emerged from the cracks in the tiles of the floor. It started to shape into a Cow- like man.

"Minotaur!" Someone yelled.

I grabbed the hair pin off my head. I clicked it closed and it transformed into a sword.

" 'Sofòs' " I read, which is Greek for 'Wise One '.

No one else seemed to have brought a weapon. Kids of Aphrodite were running around screaming. Ares kids were fishing weapons out of their pockets while Abigail, carrying a slobbery bow, knocked in an arrow.

Although there were at least a hundred students around, The Minotaur seemed to be sniffing the air.

"It's sight is terrible." Abigail explained. "That's why it goes by scent and hearing. So ,everyone , don't make a noise or he'll find you faster!"

That only made things worse. People were running around, taking spears and swords from the wall of heroes, causing the metal to collide with the marble. Other's were stealing the torches from the pillars. Most were screaming louder.

I struck it's foot but it got angry. He turned towards me.

"ROOOAAAR!" It bellowed.

It grabbed me and held me up. It opened it's mouth and in flew a silver and gold arrow. Aiden and Abigail had started firing arrows. It dropped me hard on the mosaic tiles. It started grabbing it's throat, trying to get the lodged arrows out of his system. It started bucking so violently, it kicked me to the wall. I went flying and hit the marble, blood racing from my mouth.

"Ariana!" Payton called. He saw the Minotaur.

He went to the wall of heroes and grabbed the cursed blade Achilles used before he got stabbed in the heel.

I vaguely remembered what went on, seeing as I was dazed and confused. The last thing I remember is that Professor Ladon heard what was going on and grabbed Medusa's shield, which was so scary the sight of it scared beasts and mortals alike to death. He placed it to face the Minotaur but nothing worked until Michelle stood to face the creature and it turned to granite.

Then everything was blurry.

When I woke up, I smiled as I saw the bouquet.
