i tried to humanize them
take their golden crown and replace it for strands of hair
replace emeralds for eyes
lust for skin
love for daydreams
idealized futures for pretty lies
my baby doesn't look like an angel
their haggard wings are caked with dirt and bugs that crawl at night
their smile grabs my heart but it is not without flaw
and imagine that
a wunderkind with a flaw
i gave my heart to a sunshine boy last year and goddammit i'm taking it back
