Chapter One- Why Me?

Y/n's POV:

"WHATTTTTTT??????" I screech.

"I'm sorry, honey, I know you just went through a breakup and you lost your best friend, but I have to bring you with me!"

"I'm seventeen years old, Mom!" 

"I know, honey, but Mr. Mutou is a really nice man, and he has a grandson about your age-"

"IT'S NOT FAIR!!"

And that is how I ended up on the way to Domino City with my dear mother. Why?

My mom's car pulled up to the game store. "I jsut have to check in. You can talk to Yugi if you want."

I crossed my arms and stayed put. My mom sighed and went inside. A few minutes later, a short boy with black and gold hair poked his head out of the shop and came over to the car.

"Hi, I'm Yugi. What's your name?" he said, sliding into the other side of the car.

"Y/n L/n." I replied simply.

He grinned. "Hey, wanna play Duel Monsters?"

I pulled out the starter deck I had. Or so-called starter deck. 

Within minutes, Yugi's Egyptian god cards were off the table because I used a card that allowed me to deal full damage to any five monsters I wanted. Boom. Nailed it.

I flicked a card forward, destroying Yugi's Dark Magician and ending his life points. 

"That was easy," I said, smiling.

Yugi stared open-mouthed at the board. "How is this possible?"

I smirked. "I plan to duel everyone in Domino City. That being said, I also plan to best everyone in the city." 

Yugi smiled. "Lovely to meet you, Y/n."
