Your eyes went wide as you realized what that could mean. Seto, drunk and needing to make a speech? This was not going to end well.

Seto adjusted the earpiece and mic by his face and announced, "People of Domino City! Welcome to thee-"

"A slurred word?" Joey interrupted. "Rich Boy never stutters or anythin'!"

"He's probably drunk," Duke commented. You rolled your eyes. Stupid Kaiba, ran off to a bar after he lost me or whatever.

"KaibaCorp Regional Chaampionships! If you geet a top spoot in this toournament, you'll move on to a hiigher level of competition!" His words became more slurred as he talked more. The audience murmured words of concern to one another.

Mokuba looked up at the platform. "Get him down from there before he embarrasses himself!" he exclaimed. "And the company!"

"Yes sir," one of the officials said, pressing a button.

Seto pressed on, ignoring the slowly descending platform. "I knnow that you think it may be tough, but so whaat? Champions face tough obstacles, like how I haad to face down my dreeam girl because she said I was an unbeearable asshole or something like that!"

You dropped your head into your hands and groaned. "Here we go. Drunk public speaking."

"Y/n!" Seto exclaimed, steadying himself. "I knnow you're in the crowd! I still loove you! Forgive me! Come oon!"

"Dat idiot's gonna get it!" Joey exclaimed, jumping from his seat. "YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH, KOYBA! SHE'S BETTER OFF WITHOUT YA!"

You groaned again and punched Joey. "Sit down and shut up!"

Yugi stared up at Kaiba, gritting his teeth. Why would Kaiba allow himself to speak in front of millions of people while drunk? Maybe Y/n really would flourish more, not being around him.

You started to cry, wishing the platform would descend faster. Seto just kept talking about how much he missed you, and he actually started to cry as well. Everyone in the stands looked at each other, wondering where the confident CEO had gone.

"Seto, why?" you whispered. Duke put a comforting arm around you. On the other side of him, Tristan and Tea looked at each other and then at Ryou, who shrugged.

"Don't ask me. I'm not Kaiba's boss," he said.

"No one is Rich Boy's boss!" Joey pointed out. "He runs his own go'damn company!"

Mokuba grabbed Seto off the platform the first second he could, gritting his teeth. "My brother and I are going home."

Seto slammed his hand onto a button and ran back to the platform. "I waasn't donne!" he complained, jumping onto the platform. As it rose, it wobbled a little, but he held on tight- and then it stopped.

"He broke the damn thing," Mokuba muttered. "He broke the damn platform, and now he's stuck up there."

Seto realized what he'd just done and looked up and to the screen where he could see you, being cradling in a comforting way by Duke Devlin. He let out a guttural howl and collapsed- right off the platform.

You jumped to your feet as Seto fell and, by some pure instinct, stuck out your hand and yelled out, "Nolite ruinam!" Seto instantly froze in mid-air and then slowly dropped back down, unhurt.

A warm purple glow came from your hand, radiating off your entire body. Screams rang out through the stadium, then surprised gasps as they saw Kaiba safe. Yugi and the rest of the gang stared at you, unsure of what had just happened.

You dropped your hand and the glow disappeared. Sitting back down, you shivered. "What was that?"

"I don't know," Yugi said. "But it was kinda cool."

"Yeah, can ya teach me?" Joey exclaimed.

You shrugged. "I don't know."

Duke sighed. "Whatever it is, I don't want to be on the receiving end of that if you can do the opposite of what just happened."

Across the stadium, dirty yellow eyes disappeared behind blonde hair as the owner of those eyes vanished into the shadows.
