Yugi's POV (oooh):

Oh. My. Various. Gods.

Well. That was interesting.

"C'mon, rookie, let's go inside and view your grandpa's shop," the h/c haired girl said as she bounced out of the car, packing up her deck.

Did she just call me a rookie?

Oh gods, I think I'm in love.

Y/n's POV:

Yes, I just called Yugi Muto, the King of Games, a rookie.

Sike.

My mother had Yugi take the bags up to the guest rooms, then she pulled me into the car after a quick goodbye to the Mutos.

After maybe fifteen minutes, we pulled up to a building- no, skyscraper. I mean it, the thing had to be at least two hundred stories tall.

My mom hurried up the steps. Me being slightly out of shape, I tried to follow her as fast as I could.

"Mom, why do we have to go so fast?"

"Apparently my new boss is not a very patient man. We must hurry!"

I followed her quickly up the stairs and into an office. "Mr. Kaiba, I'm sorry I'm late, I'll get started right away!"

The chair behind the desk swung around, revealing a brown-haired male with cold blue eyes, almost like the blue-eyes white dragon. "Good. Make sure the duel disk designs are rightfully sorted."

"Right away sir!"

The male faced me. "Who are you?" he asked in an annoyed manner.

I straightened up to my full height, (height). "I am Y/n L/n, current champion of Duel Monsters in America, and president of the Duel Monsters chapter in California. Roughly fourteen minutes ago I beat Yugi Muto in a non official duel using Pyramid Crumble. Good luck getting through me."

Kaiba stumbled back. "She- she beat Yugi- it can't be!" He banged his head against the wall, cursing under his breath.

I just stood with my hands on my hips. "And you are?"

He seemed to remember I was there, and quickly straightened up, fixing his coat. "My name is Seto Kaiba, CEO of KaibaCorparation, and" he gritted his teeth- "former champion of Duel Monsters. Yugi beat me. Several times."

I laughed slightly. "Did you want to duel?"

Seto frowned. "I have work to be done-"

"Kaiba, I have so much power in the world I could take over your KaibaCorp faster than you could summon Kuriboh," I said quickly.

Kaiba swallowed. "All right then."

I smirked.

Soon enough, we were facing each other in a duel.

"I'll go first!" Kaiba shouted. "I play the Green Gadget in Attack Mode! Its effect allows me to summon Red Gadget as well, and that card allows me to summon Yellow Gadget. I then tribute these three monsters to summon my first Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

I gasped. That was a good move, and it put Kaiba on the offense. I looked at my cards. Because I pulled a Yugi and believed in the heart of the cards, I already had Pyramid Crumble in my hand.

"My turn is done," Kaiba said.

I looked at my cards. I had everything I needed. "I play my Green Gadget, and in turn summon all three gadgets with their effects! Then I play two face-down cards and end my turn."

Kaiba drew a card. "I summon Hitotsu-Me Giant in Attack Mode! Now, go Blue-Eyes, and take out the Green Gadget!"

I watched my life points drop severely. "You're down to 2400 life points. Think carefully about your next move."

I looked at my hand. I had nothing but spell cards and my two remaining gadget cards.

Spell cards!

"Face down cards, REVEAL!" I shouted, whipping my hand out. My spell cards flipped over on the field. "Pyramid Crumble! And Monster Reborn!"

"First, I summon Green Gadget back to the field! Then I tribute these three cards and half of my life points to use Pyramid Crumble! This card allows me to instantly destroy up to five of your monsters and if I give all but 100 of my life points, you take damage equal to your monster's combined attack points!"

"No!" Kaiba shouted. His blue-eyes and giant exploded, and his life points went from 4000 to zero. He dropped to the floor, panting

"Kaiba."

He looked up at me.

"Always assume your opponent is anticipating your next move."

"When you shuffled my deck? The blue eyes ended up on top on purpose?"

"Yes. I knew you would summon it using the three gadgets, then you would use a face down card and a monster with lower attack points than mine. I would go for your monster, you would negate my attack, and I would be in trouble. However, I used my face down cards, playing Monster Reborn in anticipation of you destroying one of my monsters. Then because of my card's effect, I had to tribute three monsters and half of my life points. Then I risked dropping my life points to destroy all of yours. It was simple."

Kaiba stared at me. "That was awesome," was all he said.

I smiled at him and left.
