Claire got it almost as bad as Annabeth but at least Annabeth knew that it wasn't true because she has already done more than Julia ever will but Claire is just a normal human, a mortal. Well at least she thought she was. She has had some thought to whether she is a child of Aphrodite or not (but they are kind of hard to verify unless a monster attacks or it they have been claimed which neither has happened).Annabeth hurried and ran and grabbed Claire's arm and invited her to hang out with her and maybe do some homework. She wishes so badly just to be able to take Claire with her to camp half blood one time to show her that there is more to the world than she thinks, but she can't. So instead she just takes her over to Percy's with her.
Claire knows that Annabeth and Percy's relationship is different than other people's but she just thought that it was because they had been friends since they were little. Sure that was part of it but there was so much more than their age. After all they went through together how could their relationship be anything but out of the ordinary?Although she did think that it was a little weird that they would just go on trips all the time without either of their parents but she wasn't going to admit that out loud.
Annabeth had started to bring Claire over to Percy's a lot lately and they had become quite a trio. With Percy spending that much time with Claire he started to understand why Annabeth had started to think that she was a child of Aphrodite so he called Grover to see if he would enroll in Annabeth's school. It took some convincing but he finally agreed. After just the third day Grover came over to Percy's to talk to him and Annabeth about what he thought.
"Percy! What's up man! It's been too long!" Grover said.
"Dude we just hung out like 2 weeks ago..." Percy said laughing.
"Yeah, well that's too long!" Grover said as he embraced Percy. "And Annabeth, your taking care of my bro? Keeping him on track?"
"What else am I here for? My Seaweed brain wouldn't last a week without me." She said with a smirk and a wink to Percy.
"Hey wasn't there something you wanted to talk about?" Percy asked Grover trying to avoid the subject at hand.
"Oh right! Okay, so your friend Cara,"
"Claire" Annabeth interjected
"Claire, I think that you might have something there but I'm not 100% sure. But there is this girl, Julia I think her name is? I think she has some potential. "
Annabeth looked at Percy and Percy not noticing her just stared at Grover in shock.
"Your kidding me right?" Annabeth questioned.
"Umm no, why?" Grover asked growing increasingly red.
"Because she is the biggest, you know what, that has ever existed. She hates Claire and I and is-is"
"We'll just put it this way" says Percy "she isn't our favorite person in the world"
"Oh" is all Grover is able to get out.
As Annabeth calms down she asks, "Who do you think her godly parent is, or do you not know yet?"
"Well I have only been there for a few days but I have a few in mind. When I narrow it down, you two will be the first to know." Grover says as he gets up to leave.
"Okay well thanks man. I owe you one. And oh, here I've been saving this for you."
Percy gets up and walks to the kitchen and grabs a trash bag full of empty soda cans. Within seconds Grover lets out an excited bleat and thanked him a million times while walking out the door.
After that conversation Annabeth can't do anything but sit there in shock. Out of all the people in the world, it had to be Julia? She just didn't get it. She wanted Claire more than anything to be able to see her world but Julia, really? Percy understanding Annabeth and how she works just got up and ordered a pizza and sat back down and before you knew it they were sitting watching a movie eating their pizza forgetting all about their problems for the moment.
