The next day, they both meet at Kurt's locker like usual after school, and Kurt holds up a cup of coffee to Blaine, "here, a medium drip for you since I left things so awkward between us yesterday," Kurt places the drink in Blaine's hand with a soft smile.
"You didn't have to do that, everything's fine between us," Blaine took the coffee anyways taking a small sip and smiling when he realizes that Kurt did get his order right. "Ready for "drama" club?" Blaine jokes linking his arm through Kurt's as they turn and made their way to the choir room.
"Ugh, Rachel has already texted me five times today complaining about the new way that Finn has 'ruined her life'. Apparently he went to the movies with Quinn instead of going to her house watching RENT for the twenty-fifth time." Kurt tells Blaine chuckling and rolling his eyes fondly at the absurdity of the situation.
"Oh No!," Blaine exclaims dramatically as they both walk into the choir room laughing before taking their seats. They unhook their arms before walking in, the glow of their chests completely gone by the time the first of the students walk into the room after them.
"But Finn!" Rachel exclaims crossing her arms and stopping in the doorway blocking the other students entrance, "That's not a good reason. I'm your girlfriend, you should hang out with me on your night off, not your Ex."
"I don't know how to tell you this any clearer. I didn't want to watch RENT and I had already made plans before you asked me to watch with you. I didn't want to cancel my plans, so I went out. With a friend!" Finn tries to reason.
"But it was Quinn!" Rachel carries on finally stepping out of the doorway, letting the other students in who were getting more than fed up with her ranting. Mercedes walked into the room annoyed with Rachel's newest obsession.
"Oh my god, does that girl ever shut up?" Mercedes asks sitting in the chair in front of the two boys who chuckle softly. They look up to where Rachel was still yelling at Finn in front of the piano so the entire room could get a good view of the feuding couple.
"Only on the weekends" Kurt said, "Then she gets her music lessons, so she can make noise with other instruments than her voice," Mercedes chuckles as Mr. Schuester walks in to start the lesson.
"OK! Time for everyone to sit down," Shuester looks pointedly at the bickering couple "I have a new lesson for us today, one I think you are all going to like."
"Are we finally acknowledging the talents of the one and only Barbra Streisand? Because I have a lot of ideas of sets for me to perform, they are right here..." Rachel starts reaching into her backpack to take out a big stack of sheet music
"No Rachel, we aren't doing Barbra, not everyone in the room would benefit from a Barbra lesson as I have told you many times," Mr. Schue interrupts.
"But-"
"No Rachel. Today we are doing songs about soulmates, I know that you guys are getting old enough to start to understand what soulmates mean to you, so I think this would be the perfect lesson for this week. I want all of you to partner up and I want each of you to perform the chorus of one soulmate song by the end of today, I will give you half an hour to prepare." Mr. Schue walks out of the room giving the students time to prepare. Kurt and Blaine turn to each other with excited smiles.
"I know the perfect song," they both say at the same time.
"You first," they say again simultaneously falling into a series of laughter.
"Ok, really you first," Blaine smiles and waits patiently for Kurt's answer.
"'We Belong by: Pat Benatar," Kurt bounces slightly in his seat excited at the opportunity to perform.
"Oh my god that's exactly what I was thinking of," Blaine says. They both smile at each other getting started on their performance.
