we as a society value an assortment of tangible and intangible things
money
love
family
hair
hair is coveted by those who cut theirs short in a moment of passion
hair extensions solve this
but that exposes the root of this problem
hair is so sought after
we have products, whether it chemical or physical
to make our hair longer
vanity
hair is associated with beauty
"your hair looks gorgeous"
"you'd look pretty with short hair"
"my hair is oily, i look bad"
this is such an issue
people associate hair with beauty, it hasn't been this way always
bald
bald men and women are seen as unflattering or ugly
but why don't we look at faces for once instead of dead strings
planted deep into the roots of our scalp
and say "you're gorgeous"
why don't we take someone's personality, admire it, treasure it as much as we do hair
and this is why i cut all of mine off
