Twenty-Four Days {NaLu Christmas Au}

"You seem off today, are you okay?" Natsu asks, we had arranged to meet last night in the car.
"Yeah, I just have a lot on my mind." I reply quietly.
"Really?" he looks intently at me, I look away.
"Yes" I say with a shaky tone.
"Somethings up." He stands up and pays for the coffee we were drinking and he takes me outside.
"Please tell me what's wrong." He says, really close to my face.
"I-" I start.
"You mentioned knowing someone with cancer, is this about them?" He asks, to be honest, that was only part of it, leaving all my friends including him behind during the 'most wonderful time of the year' is another.
"Yeah" I say say with a sigh.
"Are they okay, did something happen?" He grabs my shoulders.
"I just-" My face starts to feel hot I can feel my tears coming in again, dammit I don't want to cry in front of him. He pulls me towards him and embraces me.
"It's okay, I don't mean to pry, i'm sorry." He rubs my hair down and when he steps back he looks at me intenty.
I refuse to look at him, I feel like i'm a mess, I don't want him to see me like this.
"Lucy, I'm always here if you need to talk." He steps away, I hold onto his jacket. "Lucy?" I look up at him, tears in my eyes.
"Can I see Mavis now, Please?" He looks at me and smiles.
"Yes, we'll see her now." he takes my hand and out of nowhere, picks me up bridal style.
"You seemed down so I wanted to try and lift you spirits." he says with a wink. The pain in my chest starts to fade and it's replaced by something else, a warm feeling. I chuckle at his little remark and I wipe away my tears.
Once we arrive at the hospital, I can feel the sadness, like if it was contagious, I can feel the sorrow. We entered the area with various cancer patients, I could hear cries from the hospital rooms. Natsu led me to a room, a man with black hair
"Lucy, this is my brother Zeref." He motioned to the guy with black hair. They don't look all that similar, I wouldn't be able to tell that they were brothers if I didn't know better.
"Mavis is over this way." Natsu took my hand and let me to a curtain, Zeref pulled it away to reveal a young looking blonde girl, surprisingly enough she actually has long flowing hair, unlike my mother who lost her hair a month into chemotherapy.
"Hello Natsu, who is this?" She asks with a sweet tone.
"This is Lucy, She wanted to see you after I told her about you."
"Hello," I say offering my hand, she shakes in and she gives me a smile.
"It's kind of nice, seeing someone other than my family and Zeref, It's not like I don't like seeing them, but it's nice seeing someone new too."
She looks so calm and loving, she doesn't deserve this horrible disease.
After my visit with Mavis, Natsu took me back to my place.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he sat down on the bed next to me.
"I'm better than I was this morning," I look down at my hands, Natsu reaches over and takes my hand. He doesn't say anything he just comforts me. I have felt so sad all day today, but now I feel somewhat better, I don't particularly know why though.
"Lucy?" He asks
"Yeah."
"Would you wanna go on another date later?" I look at him and his face reddens "it's fine if you don't want to!"
"That would be nice," I say giving him a hug. I don't know why I agreed to it, I still have so much I have to prepare for when I go to this new school, I only have twenty-four days now to prepare, but I feel like time isn't real right now.
