I feel something tapping my shoulder as a wake up. I jump up or at least try to, it seems I can only sit up for some reason. I start swinging my knife around trying to warn off whoever is there.

"wow wow woo calm down there" I hear a mans voice say.

My eyes soon adjust to the light and I realize I know the owner of the voice. It's Luke's, memories of before start coming back. My sister is alive. Lucy is alive. Luke is still staring at me with slightly panicked brown eyes.

"Oh sorry forgot where I was for a second" I say looking down at the ground trying to remember everything I can.

"No no it's fine I understand" he says pretty calmly. I would say I was surprised by how calm he was acting. But times have changed a lot, people are a lot more violent now and being suddenly woken up by stranger usually means death in this new world.

"Oh Lucy!" I say realizing I still have so many questions and things I need to ask her.

"Shh! keep it down" Luke whisper yelled to me. "People are still sleeping" I look around and see a bunch of bodies in sleeping bags peacefully asleep.

"I wanted to wake you up early so you could talk to your sister before everyone got up and we started running" He says.

"oh thank-you" I say gratefully, "Where is she?" I ask.

"Over there" he points to her. She is on the edge of the circle of people sleeping around us, she is looking off into the distance.

"Thanks" I say as I start to walk over to her carefully avoiding the sleeping bodies below me. He nods and sits back down on a sleeping bag. I realize he slept right next to me. I don't hold on to that thought for long as I tap my sister on the shoulder as I sit down next to her.

"Hey Luce" I say as I sit down.

"Hey" she replies but her voice is a little croaky, almost as if she has been crying. She looks up at me and her bloodshot eyes confirm that thought.

"What's wrong?" I ask concerned. I realize that I see the old Lucy in her eyes, the sweet kind one, the one who would cry if she accidentally killed butterfly, not the tough Lucy that I first saw when I woke up after being chased.

 She sniffles "I'm sorry"

"For what?" What could she possible be sorry for? I'm the one that should be saying sorry. I'm the one that left her. I should have looked harder that day...

"I left you" she stutters out. I stare at her shocked. She shouldn't be saying this. I'm the oldest sister it should be my responsibility to look after her not the other way around.

"Don't be, you have nothing to be sorry about" I tell her as I reach my arm out to hold her hand. she slaps it away.

"NO!" she screams. "It is my fault! You looked for me! You were trying to help me! and I just left you! I didn't even try looking for you! I didn't even go to your class room! ITS MY FAULT WE SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS APART!"

Shes crying now and looking at the ground. I  reach my arm out and put my hand under her chin and gently push her face up so shes looking at me.

" I forgave you the moment I saw you. The best thing you can do to make it up to me is forgive yourself"I say and then smile at her. I see a smile starting to creep up on her face through the tears.

I'm then roughly ripped away from her and shoved to the ground. The rough ground and tiny rocks scrap up the side of my arm as I slide along the ground from the impact and amount of  force used. When I've stopped sliding I grab my left arm in pain there's blood all over it. I look up to see my attacker.

"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING!?!" An unfamiliar tall muscular man says as he towers over me.
