Main kal tanha tha khilqat* so rahi thi,
Mujhe khud se bhi wehshat ho rahi thi.
Usey jakda hua tha zindagi ne,
Sirhaane maut baithi ro rahi thi.
Khula mujh par ki meri khush-naseebi,
Mere raaste mein kaante bo rahi thi.
Mujhe bhi na-rasaai* ka samar* de,
Muje teri tamanna jo rahi thi.
Mera qaatil mere andar chhupa tha,
Magar badnaam khilqat ho rahi thi.
Baghawat kar ke khud apne lahoo se,
Gulaami daag apne dho rahi thi.
Labon par tha sukoot-e-marg* lekin,
Mere dil mein qayaamat so rahi thi.
Ba-juz mauj-e fanna duniya mein 'mohsin
Humaari justzu kis ko rahi thi. !!
