Gum sum hua aawaz ka dariya tha woh ek shakhs,
Patthar bhi nahi ab woh sitara tha jo ek shakhs.
Shayazed woh bhi koi harf-e wafa dhoondh raha tha,
Chehron ko bade gaur se padhta tha woh ek shakhs.
Sehra ki tarah dair se pyasa tha woh shayad,
Baadal ki tarah toot ke barsa tha woh ek shakhs.
Aye tezz hawa koi khabar uss ke junoon ki,
Tanha safar-e shouq pe nikla tha jo ek shakhs.
Ab aakhri sitaron mein kahin naam hai uss ka,
Ahbaab ki fehrist mein pehla tha jo ek shakhs.
Haathon mein chhupaye hue phirta hai kayi zakham,
Sheeshe ke khilono se behlta tha jo ek shakhs.
Mudd mudd ke isey dekhna chahein meri aankhein,
Kuchh door mujhe chhodne aaya tha jo ek shakhs.
Har zehan mein kuchh naqsh-e wafa chhod gya hai,
Kehne ko bhare shehar mein tanha tha jo ek shakhs.
Munkar hai wohi ab meri pehchaan ka Mohsin,
Aksar mujhe khat khoon se likhta tha jo ek shakhs..!!
