Chapter 6

*Luke's Pov*

"I'm not doing this again Ellie. We seriously need to sort our shit out. I'm gonna loose you again and that's a fact." I keep my arm wrapped around her shoulders and I can hear her quietly sobbing.

She stared out at the vast oceans that surrounded the land with tears in her eyes.

It mirrored her expression, lost, misplaced and confused.

"I honestly don't know what to do with my life anymore Luke. I'm done with everything" She sobs into the arm of my shirt and I sigh, reaching my other arm over to rub her back.

Her cries vibrated all through my body and it was like I could feel her pain.

"Do you mean that in the way I think you mean that?" I whisper and she nods her head, turning to face me.

"Yeah. After all the things that have happened in my life, you have to be the most amazing thing" She whispers and looks me dead in the eyes with a sad smile on her face.

"I'm sorry for being such a dick today. If I had known about thi-"

"Stop apologising for things. It wasn't your fault, it was mostly mine. Let's just forget the past and live in the present." She brushes a strand of hair behind her ear and looks back out at the ocean.

"Luke, look at that plastic bag!" She wiped away a few tears and pointed out at a plastic bag that got caught on the wind.

"I love you" I exclaimed as she smiled up at the stars.

"I love you more than all of the money in the world" She laughed back and I stood up, brushing the sand off of my pants.

"We better get you back home. Wouldn't your Dad be worrying?" I question as we walk hand in hand up to the parking lot.

"Can I stay with you tonight, please?" She croaked and cracked a cheesy smile that showed no teeth.

"I guess. Most of the boys are still in studio and my Mum went to sort out some stuff about the house or something in Picadilly" I run a hand through my hair suddenly realising that we didn't have a car or transport anywhere around us.

"Looks like we're gonna have to walk. I don't live far from here anyway" I tug on Ellie's arm as she stands still with a surprised expression on her face.

"Come on Ellie" I coax her along and she finally begins to start walking along beside me.

She was kicking stones on the abandoned highway that we were walking on, hand in hand.

As soon as we arrived back at my house, she ran upstairs and dived under the covers of my bed, placing on one of my jumpers to replace her leather jacket that was wrapped around her minutes ago.

"I made hot chocolates" I carry two mugs full of hot, chocolatey liquid through the hallway and into the room to see her looking through a pile of pictures on my desk.

"This is the photo I took on my phone when you came over to my house" She smiled and scanned the picture with her eyes, capturing every little detail of the amazing kiss that was shared in that moment.

"Yeah. I have quite a few of us printed off" I kicked the door shut behind me and set the mug into Ellie's hands.

"What are we gonna do? it's only 10pm" Ellie sighed and set her mug down on the windowsill that was right beside her, my bed was jammed up against the window.

"Let's just sit here and talk" I turned the stereo off and we sat talking until she cuddled up into my arms and closed her eyes.

I sighed and started to play with her fiery red hair, remembering the times when it was a vibrant brown colour.

The times when we would send messages across our balconies, and the very first day I met Ellie.

"I love you Luke" She flashed her eyes up to me and told me the words I had been longing to hear, even though they were only expressed an hour ago.

"I love you too" I smiled and leaned down, gently kissing her on the lips.

"Never leave" She whispered and sat up cross - legged.

I could tell she was upset because she was looking to the right, it's an Ellie thing.

"I won't" I whipered back and she gripped my shirt tightly, pulling me in for the most intense kiss we had ever shared.
