"Hello, welcome to the Nikiforvo Castle, I hope you enjoy the ball." Viktor told the family of three who just walked in. And please leave quickly, he mumbled quiet enough for only him to hear. He had been at the front all afternoon, greeting guest and being as charming as possible. He had seen Yuri once and had to try his best to stifle his laughter. His "lover" was dressed in a hideous dress that was some sort of yellow-tan on the top layer and the rest was leopard pattern. But no matter how hideous, Yuri wore it with confidence only he could pull off.
Viktor was hoping something else besides that dress could spice the night up, maybe after a drink of champagne or two?

Yuuri arrived at the party and was filled with anxiety.
"Why am I here? I'm just a servant, I'm not supposed to be here," his mind began to fill him with negative thoughts,"You'll be caught and either thrown out or sent to the stocks. Did you think you could do this without getting caught?" He felt his eyes begin to water and he turned around to look for the carriage and saw none.
"Go," he heard the voice from before whisper,"you've come this far, there's no point in stopping now."
and with that. He confidently walked towards the door, trying to calm his anxious mind while he could.

Viktor was seriously getting tired of people flirting with him. If another girl comes up to me attempting to flirt I will throw them in the pit, he thought to himself. He went back to his charming self and greeted then rest of the guest. He was about to greet another young girl when he noticed a boy who seemed alone in the back, hesitant to come in. "Excuse me, ladies, I'll be back as soon as possible!" he winked and left the giggling group behind. The boy ended up running into Viktor and he looked up, apologizing immediately once he recognized who it was.
"I-I-I'm so sorry sir Viktor! I-I wasn't paying at-attention and-" Viktor placed a finger on his lips before he could say another word. The boy was redder than a rose in spring. Viktor let his finger linger and tug at his lip slightly, enjoying the boy's reactions. "It is alright, малютка. Would you like to take a walk through the gardens with me?" he held his arm out and the other linked arms with him shyly.

"So, your name is Yuuri Katsuki? What a lovely name." Viktor claimed as he and Yuuri walked through the gardens, away from the party. Yuuri smiled and looked away, blushing slightly.
They carried on with their little banter, talking about their likes and dislikes and what not.
"Yuuri, do you know the meaning of certain flowers?" Viktor asked him once they stopped and sat on a bench nearby.
Yuuri shook his head, he never had time to be able to study flowers. Viktor smirked and picked up a white flower and handed it to him. "This is a baby's breath, it means happiness" Yuuri smiled as he studied the flower which motivated Viktor to find more flowers to reflect his emotions as subtly as possible. He picked up two more and handed them to Yuuri. "The one on the right is a gloxinia, it means 'love at first sight'." with that he winked and watch the boy blush his shade of red again, moving onto the other flower. "This one is a tulip, it means 'you have beautiful eyes.'"
By the time Viktor had named most of the romantic ones, Yuuri had a bouquet of flowers. He felt he was forgetting one and he snapped his fingers and pulled the peony from earlier out of his front pocket and held it out to Yuuri. "This one, means 'healing or happy marriage.'" he said in a softer tone than before, placing it behind Yuuri's ear, stroking his cheek as he watched the blush glow brighter.
Viktor noticed the bunch of flowers and quickly gathered them all up and made them into a flower crown for Yuuri, proud of his work.
"T-Thank you, Viktor," he said putting the flowers on just right as Viktor led him inside to the castle.

"Viktor you shithead where have you been?" Yuri had demanded as soon as he spotted Viktor coming inside. At this moment, Viktor knew he had messed up.
"Yuri, you know as well as anyone in this castle that I have a very small desire to be with you, so please calm down." Viktor said nonchalantly, not knowing the sting it left Yuri to have his thought's confirmed once again. At that, he marched off angrily.
"You're supposed to be with them?" Yuuri asked, he was a little hurt and surprised. He had heard a rumor going around that the Prince had to marry some other kingdom's child in order to save the family gene pool from peasant blood.
Viktor sighed and turned towards Yuuri, grasping his hands and placing a kiss on his right ring finger."Let us not worry about that now, малютка. Instead, we should eat, I heard they're serving pork cutlet bowls here." and at that note Yuuri practically ran towards the food table

"Mother, does that boy look familiar to you?" asked one of the siblings, eyeing the man next to Viktor with a ridiculous flower crown on his head.
"He kind of looks like the pig from back at home?" the smaller sibling added, tugging slightly on the mother's shawl.
"Children there shall be no mention of that fiend here. We are here to have a good, relaxing time away from home." she swatted them away, causing a groan to come out of the twins' mouth.

Yuuri and Viktor were together on the balcony of Viktor's room, admiring the stars and continuing their banter from earlier.
"So, Yuuri, where are you from? What's your story?" Viktor questioned after telling Yuuri his story.
Yuuri had a moment of panic and suddenly his anxiety was very noticeable. Great job, Katsuki, you fucked up your one night of freedom. What are you going to do now, cry? Lie? Do it Katsuki, I dare you.
Yuuri felt his hands shaking and looked away and said quickly,"Oh, no where interesting, just a bit away part of town. I moved here recently when my father died." he said trying to find something to focus on, not feeling as bad since it was technically true. "Oh, lovely." Viktor was looking out into the mountains before he noticed Yuuri's shaking hands. He grabbed his hand and patted his back gently, whispering in his ear softly,"Are you alright, my малютка? I'm sorry if that was too personal, I dont wish to make you unhappy."
Hearing those words made Yuuri snap back to reality, which helped him calm his nerves a bit. He held onto Viktor, trying to control his heart. Viktor placed a gentle kiss on his forehead and patted him on the back, not letting go of his hand, just in case.
Yuuri gave Viktor a gentle squeeze before he realized what time it was.

Panic surged through Yuuri once again. He backed away from Viktor, stumbling backwards as he ran out the room, leaving Viktor in shock for a few moments.
"Y-Yuuri? Where are you going?" He chased after the younger one down the hall.
"I'm so sorry, Viktor! I must go now, I'm so sorry. Maybe we'll meet in another life!" and with that he was gone, leaving behind a flower and his shoe.
Viktor picked up the flower and the shoe, heartbroken. What did he mean 'in another life'?, Viktor thought to himself.
Viktor placed the shoe and flower next to his bed, planning on what he should do as he headed downstairs.
"Viktor! Come here you albino, we're going to dance!" he heard an all too familiar and displeasing voice say. He mentally prepared himself for the anger this teenager held for him next.
