Viktor snapped up from his bed."W-was that all... just a dream?" he whispered to himself, grabbing his hair in confusion. He looked around his room for hints that that wasn't just a dream."That...That was too real to be..." his voice trailed off. He grabbed his chest, an uncomfortable feeling beginning to take over.
He heard a rapping at door,"Master Viktor, your breakfast is ready. May I enter?" It was just a servant.
He put on his robe and let the servant in, thanking him and waiting til he left to discard his breakfast. The feeling in his chest was too bothersome for him to eat.
He went on with his day, doing as told, taking Yuri out, getting fitted for his suit, and finally he was alone.
He walked through the garden's alone, remembering when he and Yuuri walked together, talking, existing together.
The feeling in his chest becoming unbearable, he left the castle to search for Yuuri.
"We will be together in this life no matter what, my love."❀.°•*•°✾.* • °♡ °•❀
Yuuri was sobbing at the well. He was remembering last night, knowing he'd never get a chance like that again, especially since Viktor would be marrying someone of "pure blood".
"I didn't ask for this," he sobbed,"I just wanted to be happy."
His step mother had found out he went to the ball when she had walked in on Yuuri trying on the flowers again. She began yelling and hitting him, calling him horrible things that he never imagined being called. He knew she was a cruel person but this was beyond cruel.
Once she had thrown him out, his siblings came out to attack him, telling him his father died because of him. Telling him he was worthless and just a waste of space. But one thing they said that hit close to home was,"Viktor would never love a piece of shit like you. He didn't even know you were a pig, you tricked him and seduced him while he was with someone else. You're a whore, Yuuri."
Remembering what they said stung him, badly. He stood up weakly, looking down the well. He looked up into the sky and blew a kiss, whispering,"Maybe in another life." and down he went...
...right when Viktor was about to call out to him.

He could've saved him.
"Do you, Viktor Nikiforov, take Yuri as your lawfully wedded partner?"
He could've stopped him.
"Yes."
If he was a minute earlier, a second earlier, he could've saved him.
"Do you, Yuri Plisetsky, take Viktor as your lawfully wedded husband?"
He could've been marrying him, living his dream.
"Yes."
He could've been with him.
"I now pronounce you two, married. You may now kiss."
He could've been with him in this life.

.After the ceremony and the after party, Viktor went to Yuuri's home.
He knocked on the door, hoping someone would answer, hoping maybe his mind had just tricked him.
No one answered it.
He looked inside through the windows and found the house empty, nothing there but and a bit of a mess. It seemed that the people had left in a hurry, off to god knows where.
He sighed and walked around to where Yuuri last was.
He looked down, wondering what made the boy think this was the only solution? How hurt was he that ending it all was the only option? Was their night together not enough to keep him alive?
Was it all a lie?
Viktor reached inside his pocket and pulled out two flowers and placed them on the well.
"This is for you Yuuri," Viktor said, his voice cracking. "This one is a stock," he said holding it up with shaking hands,"it means 'you will always be beautiful to me'..." he dropped it down the well.
He picked up the other flower,"This one is a heliotrope, it means 'devotion' or 'eternal love'." he dropped the purple flower down the well, watching it fall and letting his tears fall down as well.
As he turned to leave he saw a bush of yellow roses. He smiled and laughed sadly.
He thought about the roses the whole way home, knowing it was just a coincidence but it's meaning seemed fitting for the time."Remember me."
