The soldiers inside the fire base could only watch and listen as hundreds of voices screamed to the heavens, and hundreds more bodies were destroyed. The nerve of the defenders was breaking. The enemy pushed forward with all of their strength. They crashed into the walls of the base like waves crashing onto a shore.
Vulcan was dragged into the base by Tanev, The soldiers watched as he was brought in.
"Is the Warblade still alive?" a soldier asked.
Vulcan quickly answered, "I believe so, but even if I am wrong we will still fight for the prosperity of our empire!"
"Take up arms, we're heading out there." Tanev announced.
"Some of us will die but that is the grim reality of war, We will attack in spite of this." Vulcan added.
"Let each soldier equal ten of the enemies!" Tanev said as he raised his hand in a fist.
With a great yell the remaining garrison of soldiers charged out onto the blood soaked battleground. The surviving defenders found new strength with the arrival of their comrades. Hellfire turned direction and began to spit fire once again.
Revius was now deep inside the enemy line. He had no choice but to run or be obliterated. With a swift swing Revius cut deep into the enemy battlemech's hull and ran as fast as he could back to friendly territory. Out of the haze Revius could see his men fighting hard against the tank column that was descending upon them. A shell exploded on Righteous Fury's back followed by a hail of bullets.
"Armor integrity now at 45%" Righteous Fury sparked.
Revius pushed forward into the tank column and used his remaining strength to crush five tanks. The sustained gunfire on Righteous Fury's hull was now too much and Revius began to realize that the systems of the warblade were starting to cycle down. with a great creak and groan Righteous Fury fell to its knees.
