Chapter twelve

I pounded hard on the door. My knuckles turning red.

"Roxy!" I yelled into the door key.

Suddenly there were soft foot steps and the door opened, Roxy rubbing her eyes.

"Kyle?" She yawned.

"Roxy!" I pushed her aside and into the hotel room.

"Oh, so you know where Misty went?" Roxy crossed her arms.

"Huh?" I spun around to face her.

"I've been trying to call her. Her rooms right next to mine." Roxy pointed out the door.

"Where's Zander?" I asked, my whole body shaking.

"Across the hall next to the twins. They just got here." Roxy raised her eye brows as I darted out of her room and started knocking on Zander's, my raw knuckles starting to bleed.

The door opened and two boys stepped out. One with their hair long and in a ponytail and Zander.

"Alex!" I sighed looking at the two.

"We were just playing video games!" Zander lifted his hands up.

"Alex, get Skylar. Fast." I exclaimed pointing towards his room.

Alex pushed past me, opening his own door to wake his sister. I took Zander's wrist and dragged him into Roxy's room followed by Alex and a sleepy Skylar, her blond hair in a braid down her back.

"What's going on Kyle, are you ok?" Roxy said, placing her hands on my shoulders, her face round with worry.

"I'm fine." Kyle turned around to face the others.

"No your not. Your shoulder." Alex said touching his right should with his pointer finger.

I glanced at it.
A deep wound was cut into my flesh but I ignored it. I hadn't even felt the pain. Fear had covered it up. Why was I so scared back there!? It's my fault!

"I'm fine ok!? It's Misty." I breathed in and out as if I had ran the whole way home.

My lungs were burning and heart pounding. I pulled myself back together, even if my hands were sweating, trembling and bleeding from knocking on the door hard.

"We went back to Freddys." I muttered to them, mostly to Roxy.

Alex backed up, his pale face turning ever whiter. Skylar slapped her hand over her mouth. Zander sat on Roxy's hotel bed, his eyes staying out into the hallway.

"We wanted to find something that would tell me about my dad." I contiued starting to walk around, fumbling in my bloody knuckles.

"Why on earth didn't you wait for us?" Zander stood up facing me.

At first I thought he was angry but then I saw it on the jocks face for the first time. Fear.

"I don't-" I started to explain but Roxy pushed me aside and faced Zander.

"This was his thing Zander. He wanted to do this alone but I bet you Misty asked him. We all know he likes her. He couldn't say no." Roxy snapped at him.

It was true. I tried not to admit it. Then I continued the story. I told them all about how we got through the vents and reached the kitchen.

"Then the lights turned off and she screamed. Foxy took her." I managed to mumble the last words out until I couldn't speak anymore.

"We need to get her back." Skylar suddenly said, loudly.

Alex looked to his twin and they both nodded. Roxy turned away from Zander to face me.

"We'll get her back. I promise." She slightly smiled.
