"Kyle?" I whispered into the darkness.
"I'm here." Said a voice behind me. I spun around and flickered my flash light on. His face stood there and I screamed.
"Shhh!" He laughed, grinning.
"Don't scare me like that!" I started grinning too.
"Whatever." He finished laughing and we both sighed, realising what we were about to do.
"Are you ready?" He asked me.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I nodded as we set off.We walked across the street, approaching the building.
"Wow, it's worse with out Roxy and Zander." I said, looking around.
"Yeah, with them there's more......jokes?" Kyle chuckled, but we really didn't feel like smiling. The building was like a monster. Looming over me, like a giant elephant about to step on a mouse. I could tell Kyle felt the same way. I didn't want to take another step, my feet felt firmly planted on the floor like glue. But I managed to step closer to the building and noticed the difference. The police tape was gone, along with the rods. Instead, large wooden planks crossed over the doors. The doorknobs gone, covered by more wooden longs. The doors completely blocked. No way inside. I sighed. How are we gonna get in?
"Is their like another back door?" He asked me.
"Wait a second! The vents! We can get through there!" I cried. My voice bouncing around us.
"Shhh!" Kyle hissed.
"Sorry!" I muttered, laughing.
"Ok, the vents. Where are these?" He said looking around.
"I think towards the back." I told him, leading the way around the building. It's shadow hiding us.
"Look!" I pointed. A little metal grate sat on the brick wall. It was rather large, a adult man could probably fit through and move his arms a bit.
"How are we gonna get up there?" Kyle looked to me and for the first time sense I've been here, I grinned."Don't scramble!" Kyle yelled at me.
"Sorry!" I hissed back, trying to be silent. His large and long fingers curved around my brown winter boots. His whole body was pressed up against the building, his arms using their strength to push up, holding me. I using my finger nails and pulled the vent off, dropped it and watched it fall, slowly.
"Hurry up!" Snorted Kyle. I nodded, even though he didn't see me. I wiggled my arms through and gripped onto the rusty metal. I used my muscles and pulled myself up into the vent. Kyle let go of my feet and I kicked on the bricks and into the vent.
"I'm in!" I yelled.
