Chapter 9
Sunday rolled around and the girls decided they needed to get their dresses soon, because if they had any alterations it would take more than a week to get the dresses back. They made it a mother daughter day, Nat and Cammy went along with their daughter’s to help them choose the perfect dress. They had breakfast at a cute little place by the boutiques, went to get their nails done, and then headed for the stores, stopping for lunch in between.
It took a while but each girl found a dress that flattered their bodies really well, the moms took this opportunity to shop for themselves as well. By the time they were done with everything it was nine at night and they returned home exhausted.
The next morning Megan woke up to an empty house, she looked at the clock beside her bed, it was only eight in the morning but no one was home. She knew her dad had left to work, and her mom had to run some errands but she had no idea where Zach and Luca were. She took the opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet; she took a shower and hopped back in her bed with The Hunger Games. The book was so interesting that she finished the book in less than two hours and then started re-reading it again. She was half way through re-reading the book when her phone went off.
“Hi Ryan,” She answered.
“Hey, what are you up to?” the deep voice asked.
“I’m reading a book, how about you?”
“Oh what book? I’m bored out of my mind. The girls are off at pre-school because their winter break doesn’t start till next week, and my aunt and uncle are at work.”
“The Hunger Games. Aw sad, why don’t you come over? We can watch a movie or something? I can come pick you up.”
“Well I don’t want to bother you.”
“No silly you wouldn’t be a bother at all! I’ll see what Stacy is doing too.”
“Well if you are sure I would love to come over, and don’t worry about picking me up. My aunt left me a car; just give me your address.”
She gave him her address and then called Stacy and invited her over.
Stay came over in less than twenty minutes, she just walked through the front door that Megan had left open.
“I am so glad you called me! My mom was trying to pimp me out to the Anderson’s boy. I have no idea why he was over but he has really shifty eyes that creep me out.” Stacy threw her purse on the living room sofa, and took off her jacket.
“The Anderson’s boy? You mean Tommy? The one with black hair and the tattoo on his neck?” Megan again, not believing that Cammy would ever try to set up her daughter with someone who has a tattoo.
“No Tommy is the older one, it was his brother Kyle. He got into that fine arts program during sophomore year so he left our school. I’m starving, what do you have to eat?” Stacy asked, going into the kitchen.
Megan trailed behind her, Danni their cook was in the kitchen whisking away at something. Nat loved to cook but she was always so busy that she rarely got time, so they hired Danni when Megan was two and she has been with them ever since. Danni and Brady were wife and husband and had two little children. They lived in the Harrison’s guesthouse just a few miles away, Brady helped to take care of the plants and other little things around the house while Danni cooked delicious meals.
