Chapter 18
He captured her lips between his and gave them a gentle suction that nearly had her undone. A sound escaped from the back of her throat that sounded an awful lot like a moan. His hand ran down to the nape of her neck, and he stroked the smooth diamonds that rested there.
Slowly, and almost hesitantly he pulled back, with sparkling eyes as a smile tugged across his lips. His breath spanned across her face as he let out a soft content sigh. He moved his hand to the side of her face to tuck in a stray piece of hair behind her ear. His knuckles brushed across her cheek sending shivers down her spine.
Flustered she sank against the door frame, trying to regain her composure. She was scared to look up at his face. Fear of finding it filled with regret over took her. She felt him take a small step back, and knew that he was running his eyes across her flushed face.
His fingers trailed from her ear to her mouth, and gently traced the bottom of her now plumped lip with his pulsing thumb.
She looked up at him, lost within his touch.
"Merry Christmas Megs." He whispered lightly with a slight smirk that she was now beginning to see as his signature look.
Suddenly reality came rushing in. Without thinking about what she was doing Megan rushed out from under him and scurried across the hallway into her room. Ignoring Luca's voice calling towards her she slammed the door shut behind her.
When she finally made it downstairs almost all the guests were there. Everyone was dressed in formal attire.
"Megan honey you are finally down!" Nat exclaimed closing the space towards her daughter. Once she got closer she whispers, "What took you so long? Everyone's been asking for you honey."
"Sorry I just couldn't get my hair right." Megan whispered back. It was slightly true, after her little "rendezvous" with Luca her hair was all out of place so it took her a while to set it right again.
"Well you and your hair both look stunning. Now go mingle! The caterers are going around with the appetizers so make sure you grab something to eat, dinner won't be for a little while." Nat told her, as she gently pushed her towards the crowd of people.
Megan looked back at her mom who had already disappeared towards the kitchen.
She decided to find Stacy first so she made her way through the living room, bumping in quite a few people. Most of them were family friends, but there also some of her father's business associates. She stayed and chatted with each guest she bumped into before finally feasting her eyes on a short with a beautiful white romper, and almost ten inch nude colored heels. She was standing in a circle with a group of people. Before she could call out to her, the whole group turned to look at her.
"Meg!" "Megan!" "Meggers!" the voices came simultaneously.
She didn't know who to address first as they were all her close friends but one stuck out more than the others. The voice that called her Meggers.
"Alex!" she exclaimed letting herself get wrapped up in a large hug. He was one her best friends from high school and she started to think that she wouldn't be able see him this break.
He was very attractive, with dark eyes and dark hair. He got into one of the most prestigious colleges in the nation on a full ride scholarship for his acting skills. It was his dream to become an actor someday.
"I didn't think I was going to see you this time around." She said as they pulled out of the hug, but he kept an arm slung across her shoulder, and she kept her arm circled across his waist.
