I was walking through the mall with Josh. "I wanna go to Hot Topic. We've passed it like 10 times and yet, we haven't gone inside!" I pulled Josh to Hot Topic. "Josh, they have hair dye! I wanna dye my hair blue," I grabbed a box and a Panic! Sweatshirt before heading to the check out.

"Nope. I'm paying," Josh took the stuff out of my hands. "Hey! Just because you're my boyfriend doesn't mean you have to pay!" I argued, trying to reach for the stuff but lucky for me, Josh is tall. Note the sarcasm. After he paid, we decided to get lunch at a cafe.

We got sat down and a waitress immediately came. "Hey, I'm Iris and I'll be your waitress," she smiled widely at Josh. "Umm, can I get some water?" I asked politely. "Sure," she looked bored then turned to Josh with a grin.

"I'll have the same thing my girlfriend is getting," Josh smiled at me. The waitress scoffed before scurrying off to get our water. "Josh, I'm really glad I have you as my boyfriend. I'm pretty sure you know me better than anyone else," I leaned over to peck him on the cheek.

Iris came back with our water, waiting for us to order our food. "I'll have a grilled cheese," I looked at the menu before giving it to her. "I'll have a cheeseburger," Josh handed her his menu and she went off, glaring at me.

"I wonder when I'm gonna meet my dad's new girlfriend," I looked into Josh's eyes. "I don't know. But if she's a witch, I'll come over and help you," Josh grabbed my hand. Iris came with our food, also handing Josh a slip of paper. "In case you wanna ditch this slutty whore," she winked before going to another table.

Josh ripped it up, both of us laughing. But I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness deep down inside. I took a bite of my sandwich, the girl's comment replaying in my mind. "Kar? You okay?" Josh looked at me with concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I gave him a smile. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket with a text.

Dad: I'm inviting my girlfriend over for dinner. Make sure the house is clean when you get back. Love you <3

"We should head back. My dad's inviting Sierra over for dinner," I got up, seeing Iris come over. "Here's your check. Call me," Iris handed Josh the check. He gave her money then we left, Josh putting his arm around my waist. We went back to my dad's place, making sure everything was cleaned up before I started dinner.

"Josh, are you staying for dinner?" I asked when he came into the kitchen. "Of course. I want to meet your dad's girlfriend too. Especially if she's a jerk, I don't want you dealing with her," Josh kissed my cheek. My dad came home, kissing me on the cheek. "Josh's staying for dinner," I gave my dad a hug.

"Yeah, that's fine. Sierra will be here in about 2 and a half hours. I can take care of this while you get ready," dad answered. "I'm going to head home and get ready. I'll be back soon," Josh gave me a quick kiss before leaving. I went to the bathroom, starting the shower up. I washed my hair, remembering the hair dye I got earlier.

I decided to do that. I did everything I was supposed to, let it sit, rinsed it then blow-dried it in time for Josh to be back. I went into my room, putting on my strapless black and red ombré dress. I put on flats since I hate heels and own none. I curled my hair, pinning some curls back. I put on a necklace my mom gave me when I graduated then did my make-up.

I came out of my room to see Josh setting the table. "About ti- you dyed your hair," dad stared at my hair before going back to the food. "Let me finish that while you get ready," I took over while my dad went to get ready. Josh and I put the food on the table, making sure to not spill on my dress.

"Kar, you look amazing," Josh said, kissing my forehead. I hugged him which is kinda hard since I'm so short next to him. The doorbell rang, taking our attention. "I'll get it!" I called, heading to the door. I opened it to see a woman with bleached hair, too much make-up on, this dress that barely covered anything, huge boobs and super tall heels. She wore a face that said 'you look like a child'.

"Hi, I'm Karter Collins," I held my hand out. "Good for you. Now, where's my Davie?" She stepped inside, pushing me into the wall. I closed the door, fixing myself. "Wow, she's a witch," Josh whispered, making us laugh. Sierra turned around, noticing Josh and putting this fake smile on.

"Why hello there! I didn't notice you just a minute ago," she said, making sure her dress was smooth. "Yeah, I'm Karter's boyfriend," he put his arm around my waist, kissing the top of my head. "What kind of name is that? Karter? It sounds like a boy name," she smirked.

"It's spelled with a 'K' not a 'C'," I pointed out, trying to stay calm. dad came in, hugging Sierra. "Hey sweetie," he said, kissing the top of my head. "Let's go eat, shall we?" Dad led us to the table, pulling a chair out for Sierra. I sat down right before Josh was gonna do the same.

"Rude," he stuck his tongue out, making me smile. "So, how old are you, Karter?" Sierra asked after a bit. "I'm 19," I answered sweetly. "And how old is uhh," she lingered for a moment before Josh spoke. "Josh. And I'm 28," he smiled but I could tell he wanted to just relax and cuddle with me.

"So how did you two meet?" I asked, hoping she wasn't like our waitress from earlier. "We've been working for awhile and I decided to ask her out," dad kissed her before going back to his food.

This was gonna be one heck of a dinner
