As I sat in my office, I looked at my watch, wondering when will Jaydi get here. She should've arrived 45 minutes ago.
"Mr. MacFarlane, there's someone wanting to see you." Linda, one of the employees said through the answering machine.
"Bring whoever it is and make sure it's not a fan." I sighed. God, why do people think it's funny to be coming my office.
"Right on, sir." She said.
I heard familiar footsteps coming from the hallway and thought about Glory. Who is she, you ask? She's my girlfriend and soulmate. I deeply respect her so much. We've had our first and only sexual activity at least once and don't plan on doing so again since we weren't comfortable doing so.
The first time we met was at Starbucks and from the moment we looked at each other's eyes, we kissed passionately and kept our relationship a secret. That was until we were in New York and we had to run away from the media.
A month later, we went back to LA and everyone looked at us and asked for pictures. I felt a little bit shy since I'm not a selfie person. Plus, I'm not sure how to take one that well. Never mind!
"Hey, boo." Glory said, sitting on a chair. She has her laptop backpack with her, as well as her iPhone.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"I'm letting you know that I'm graduating in 3 weeks from online school." She explained. Did I mention, she's planning on becoming a digital artist? I think it's a great idea.
"That's great. I'm kind of busy right now, so if you want, you can wait by the hallway entrance for me." I told her.
"Okay then. Love you." She said, as she blew a kiss.
"Love you too." I said, but she skipped to the door and closed it behind her.
God, I'm so lucky to date someone like her. Everyone says things like that I'm happier and less stressed out.
"Sorry, if I'm late, sir. My car had troubles and I had to call a tow truck." Jaydi said to me, as she told me what happened.
"That's okay. Just be here in time, okay?" I assured her.
"Got it."
"Good. Can you please get me a latte?"
"I'm on it!"
"Thank you."
That night, I felt so tired and overwhelmed for the upcoming season of Family Guy we were discussing about.
"Ready?" Glory asked me.
"Affirmative." I said, yawning.
"No sleeping on the wheel." She reminded me.
"I know." I said, not listening since I can hear myself yawning a bit.
"Do you want to hold my hand?" She said, holding it out.
"Sure." I said, kissing it.
"You're such a gentleman, Seth." She responded.
"Thanks." I said, blushing. Wake up, damn it! I slapped myself awake.
"Are you hungry?" She asked.
"I need to relax." I answered, not hungry one bit.
"Okay then. I'll drive for you and you sit in the passenger seat." She reminded me.
"Thanks. But I can drive on my own."
"I know, I figured since you're tired, I can do it for you."
"Okay then. I won't fall asleep like last time." I told her.
"Promise me?" She held up her pinky finger. I did the same thing as well. 2 months ago, during our trip to New York, I proposed to her but not in a marriage way since we're not ready for an engagement, so I got her a promise ring instead. She accepted it and got lots of compliments about it. They even asked who's she dating and I told them off. I don't blame myself for doing that.
We made it to the parking lot, holding hands and I thought a lot of people were going to stalk us. Turns out, it didn't happen. Thank god, nobody's here watching us or I would've started a fight.
"Skye, do you still believe that I'm from New York?" Glory said, talking to him from New Year's Eve.
"I know you were kidding, buddy G. I know you were." He laughed.
"See you in class tomorrow." She giggled.
"Bye." He responded, ending the call.
"What were you saying again, Seth?" She said, forgetting what I just told her about few minutes ago.
"What did you make for dinner?" I sighed. Seriously, why do I need to repeat myself sometimes.
"Chicken stir fry. You can take out the chicken if you want." She reminded me.
"Did you order it?" I asked.
"I looked it up. Does that count?" She explained.
"Sure. Unless, it's from PF Chang's then I'll eat it." I smirked.
"You'll love it way more than the birthday cake I made for you." She grinned.
"That cake was was terribly made but I appreciate how you did it." I laughed.
About 4 months ago, I woke up and got a text message from Glory, telling me to go downstairs. I did as I was told and found out that I got a red velvet cake. I took a bite out of it and it blew up with streamers.
"Do you like the cake? I made it with all my love." She said, walking to the dining room.
"What the hell was that?" I said, looking surprised.
"A cake, duh!" She giggled.
"Not just any cake, it looked like I was going to die!" I exclaimed.
"Be happy that nothing caught in fire. Take a seat. I made something for you." She grabbed the chair out for me.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"You're welcome." She said, fluffing my hair.
She got a huge present with Christmas wrapping paper. I noticed it was from last year and thought to myself that I did not use it all up.
"It's nowhere near the holidays and you did this for me?" I looked at the paper very carefully.
"Yup! Open it before I do it for you." She laughed.
"Okay!" I laughed too. I opened it and looked surprised. "Glory, can you explain what the fuck is this? I just turned 42 and I have a teddy bear." I asked her, without getting mad.
"It's a confess a bear! You tell all your secrets to it and the best part is that it says profanity!" She laughed loudly.
"Where did you get it?" I wondered.
"Build a Bear Workshop." She told me.
"Yippie!" I said, sarcastically.
"I know!" She hugged me tightly.
