Zaynah Chantelle Payne's POV

I ate bacon and eggs for my breakfast and a hot choco drink. I brushed my teeth and took a bath, blow dried my hair, put it in a bun, and wore my outfit, rushingly.

A Messenger notification sound? Now who'd wanna message me in this time? Cadence and I are supposed to be leaving in 5 minutes from now.

What? Now where am I gonna ride to school?

"Now when can life go worse?" I said to myself as I put on my glasses. Yes, I do wear glasses but only once a week. I don't know why, it's what the eye doctor told me.

"Why would life go worse?" a deep voice said.

"Why the f are you still there, Sam?" I asked.

"Why do you care? You're not my mother," he said, combing his hair.

"I didn't say I cared, I only asked," I rolled my eyes. "I gotta go, I have to get a taxi before it's la—"

"You can ride with me," he said.

"Pardon?"

"I said you can ride with me."

"Nope, I prefer commuting," I replied. "Thanks, but no thanks."

"No, you could just ride with me a—"

"I said no. When I say no, it's final. I don't wanna be called a bitch or a slut everywhere around the school. Yesterday, you see, they were murmuring about me when we both won in the singing contest. They said, "That girl cheated!" Nyanyanya! Blablabla!" I frowned.

"Well, I'm the administrator's nephew, I can shush them up and no one will speak."

"No, still, sorry," I said and went to the gate of my house, leaving Sam there.

It's been long five minutes, and still no taxi. Oh goodness gracious! Maybe I should've— no. No no no.

After more five minutes, there still isn't any. Where are they now that I need them?

Instead of a taxi, a sports car stopped in front of me. Sam held his sunglasses down, showing his eyes. Ooh he looks cool. "Regretting decisions, Madame?"

Maybe I should've rode with him. Maybe he'll ask me again? Hopefully?

Nah. He drove quickly like I was some air. What a gentleman. Another five minutes came, and there's still no taxi. Now what? I'm gonna make a good impression at the main branch. Most tardy. Ugh.

A black sports car stopped in front of me again. "Hop in! We're gonna be late!"

I sighed. I though he wasn't gonna come back. I hopped in at the seat beside him and he started to drive away.
