Zaynah Chantelle Payne's POV

Thankfully, the allergic reaction was stopped immediately. I am able to be in the oration contest. I didn't let my mother or Zayrah know about it. I don't want them to worry.

*beep beep*
That's Cadence's horns. I went down and said my goodbyes to them. "Are you fine now?"

"Yea," I said while looking at the sheet of paper our teachers gave us. Just another glance, it'll not hurt.

"Don't ever drink again, ok?" Cade said as I gave her a thumbs up.

I wasn't really going to drink that. Sam pressured me. No, not really. He poured it into my mouth. He really is a bad boy.

"Hey," Cade said as I nodded. "Why can't you answer Shawn's question yesterday?"

"Err... what question?" I asked. I actually forgot. I spent all midnight memorizing this.

"The... you know," Cade murmured. "If you have feelings for Sam or not."

That made me cough. I remember. Why did he ask that all of a sudden anyway?

"Because I don't know how to answer," I replied. "Ya know everything. He's confusing my feelings. But all I know is I don't like or love him, I just didn't want to hurt him last night."

"Why would he even be hurt?" Cadence asked and smirked.

"Well, yeah... never thought of that"

Oration came by like a snap

Oration came by like a snap. I didn't win a place though, but Cadence did in second place and I am proud of her. Sam beat her. I forgot some lines but oh well. Sigh.

"Zay," Cadence said as I looked at her. "You won a singing contest... I won... well, nearly... an oration contest. Let's have a date!"

"Yeah, I like that idea," I replied. "Starbucks later?"

"Okay, yea... it's settled then," Cadence smiled, posting her medal on Instagram. "Are we gonna bring anyone?"

"Up to you," I said. "'Am too lazy to make decisions."
