Leo's POV
I was literally dying of embarrassment when Jason teased that it was a date. Of course I wish it was, but I don't think Jess did.
I've always been attracted to girls and thought many of them were hot, but with Jess it wasn't like that. She started off despising me, but she warmed up.
She was so... Different. Not your usual stereotypical blonde hair blue eyed air head. Jess had a natural beauty about her. She had dark brown hair that was straight without any work. She had perfectly tanned skin all year round. But her eyes was what really caught my attention. Huge. Beautiful. Full of different hues of brown with very long dark eyelashes. She always smelled like vanilla.
Um, anyway I was taking her somewhere really special tonight. I made this magical little canoe just for us made a picnic packed with Jess's favorite food: Sour patch kids, cheese sandwiches, and apples.
I was watching the clock anticipating 11:30. It was 10:45. I was freaking out over what to wear and what to say.
"Why does this have to be so hard!" I muttered unsatisfied with another one of my outfits.
"Oh my dear foolish ones make it so complicated." I female voice said. I turned startled. My jaw dropped open. Standing there was a woman so beautiful I forgot who I was. I felt giddy inside and an urge to watch romance movies.
"W-who?" I stuttered.
"I am Aphrodite, goddess of love." The woman said. Her appearance was changing constantly to my idea of beautiful. She looked like a movie star I liked, then a singer, then she looked like Jessica.
"I see you are having troubles with your date tonight." She said.
"It's... Uh it's-" I stammered.
"Not a date?" She asked."well I sure hope it is Leo Valdez! And Jessica hopes so too." She winked.
"It's not like that." I protested but even I didn't believe my self.
"Don't let worries ruin this young love. I will be there to guide you tonight. Just follow your heart and the path will show." Aphrodite took me to the mirror and snapped her fingers. I was suddenly wearing he perfect outfit for a date. Nice jeans and a American Eagle t-shirt with a stylish jacket over it. I was stunned. The goddess smiled.
"Ah it's almost 11:30, you have a date to get to. Good luck Leo Valdez." Aphrodite flashed away in a poof and only the smell of roses remained.
.
I walked out the door ready for this date, but it still isn't a date.
