Annabeth's POV
She didn't know what had happened to her. She was enjoying time with Percy when suddenly her arm and her head started burning so intensely she had blacked out from pain.
She had heard her mother's voice. She said:
"You have failed me! You let them take me away! Kill them, all of them. They don't belong here. They have destroyed me, taken everything I am and made me into THIS! Avenge me or you are nothing to me." Athena's cold stare regarded her with absolute disgust. Then the dream rippled and faded into a new scene.
I was in a forest, and I was kneeling next to a girl who's face I couldn't make out. From the hollow feeling in my heart I knew it was someone I loved. Their clothes were bloodied and their skin was pale like cold milk.
"You can't leave!" I sobbed. I stroked her hair.
"G-get her ambrosia!" Jason sobbed. It was the first time I had ever seen him cry.
"Ambrosia won't help! She's dying." Percy sobbed.
A powerful and unfamiliar women's voice bellowed:
"As my daughter gives her last sacrifice, the poor heroes mourn around her, how sweet. She has only delayed my rise foolish heroes. Give up now and she will be the last death of the Eight! Sacrifice her to the earth!"
The dying girl gripped my hand and whispered, "don't let her win." And with that her grip slackened and she closed her eyes.
I felt like poisoned knife had pierced my heart.
"Annabeth?" A far away voice called.
"Annabeth wake up!" They called again.
I awoke curled up and sobbing. Will Solace was at my bedside calling my name. I couldn't stop trembling and my arm and head still hurt.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked. Then he handed me some ambrosia.
"Uh yeah." I lied. Will looked really upset and anxious like someone who's about to give bad news. The ambrosia tasted like my dad's chicken soup.
"Annabeth," Will hesitated,"something has happened to Percy."
"Did he pass out too? Where is he?" I demanded panic overcoming me.
"Well, you've been out for two days and Percy went to his cabin to sleep two nights ago, in the morning he nobody could find him, he just disappeared." Will explained. My heart felt like it was being stabbed again.
"That can't be! H-he. He was just with me!" I sobbed. My whole body was trembling and racked with pain. How could this happen!
Oh my god! I had fun writing this chapter.
This is a kinda different and changed version of lost hero/ mark of Athena
