For the next week, we resettled back into the Fear Sims. I still hadn't relived my last fear yet, the one where everyone important in my life suddenly despised me. I was thankful for that but I would still need to figure a way out of that one before the final test.

As for the Divergent questioning, Morsov, Emer, Ryan, and Deitrich had been brought in for questioning. So far it seemed they were most focused on the new initiates and recent Dauntless transfers, who were all questioned personally by Jeannie.

There were also two other Erudite questioning the older Dauntless. Ryan told us all about the questioning which allowed me to prepare for some of the questions that would be asked. I figured they would be especially focused on me since my Fear Sim time was still the best best at  eight minutes.

Only two people had been taken into custody of being suspected Divergents. They were both male Dauntless members. Lately all of the gossip was about the whole Divergent Epidemic. It seemed everyone was convinced that we were totally dangerous and should be incriminated on the spot.

I only added to the speculation. Purposefully pretending that I was just a part of the crowd and not the exact thing that everyone was worried about.

I had even talked with Four about it. He suggested I stay calm and answer all the questions in one to two words in order to leave no space for doubt. It's the most efficient way to lie.

I was currently in a fear sim room with Eric, sitting upon the reclined chair. Eric was prepping the syringe.

"How's the stomach?" He asked curiously as he turned towards me.

"It's all good, doesn't even hurt much any more," I told him. The scratches had healed over for the most part and would likely leave a faint scar. "Also your shirt is really comfortable by the way."

I was actually wearing it then, the soft black fabric hung loosely since it was several sizes too big. Even though no one really knew it was his shirt, I still liked wearing it around him for some reason.

He chuckled. "Looks better on you anyway," Eric admitted and I smiled softly.

"I'm happy you said that because I wasn't planning on giving it back," I replied with a grin.

He snort gently. "What a thief."

Eric attached the metal processor to my temple and then tilted my neck slightly so he could inject the needle. I felt the familiar pinch and closed my eyes.

I reopened them to find myself in a pitch black area. I moved my arms upwards only for them to be stopped by a wood confinement. I was stuck in a coffin again. I felt my heart rate accelerate but did my best to stay calm.

What would a Dauntless do?

I brought my fist upward against the wood but only made a small dent. I did the same motion again but it was difficult to get a good hit since there was hardly any room in the small box. I tried once more and finally partially broke through the thin wood. With a fourth and final punch I went straight through it. I used my free hand to rip off the wood that had me trapped and created a small opening.

I pushed my upper body through the opening and then dragged myself out of the coffin. I stood back up to find myself once again standing on a bridge made of wood and rope. Below me was a rapid cold looking river.

I immediately reacted without any hesitation and started sprinting to the other end of the bridge to the cliff so I could escape. Just as I was about to step into the safety zone of the cliff the bridge collapsed and I just barely managed to catch the side of the cliff with my fingers.
