Simon: But I never met him

Zoe: I know, but he's a really good guy and gay too

Simon: He must be you keep talking about him

Zoe: He is. Now text him. I'll send you his number now

Simon: Okay, but if I don't like him. I'm not going to see him in real life okay

Zoe: That's fine

Zoe texted me the guy's number and I sent the first text. Hoping it will go well. I mean Zoe wouldn't set me up with a jerk right?

Me: Hey I'm Simon. The guy Zoe is trying to set you up with

Guy: Hi I'm JJ

Me: Nice to meet you JJ

JJ: Nice to meet you too Simon so his old are u?

Me: 18

JJ: 20 about to turn 21 next week

Me: You're old af

JJ: I'm two years old than you

Me: Still old

Simon: Ok, well no one really knows about my sexuality just close friends, but I'm not afraid for people to find out.

JJ: That's kind of like me, my parents have no clue, they're very strict Nigerian parents. My flatmate, Josh, has his suspicions, but I keep denying it.

Simon: I have two older brothers and I'm the smallest of the family.

JJ: Oh that's cool, I have a brother called Deji, he's sometimes annoying, but I love him really.

Simon: I'm a total Mummy's boy, we have a really strong relationship, ever since my Dad left.

JJ: I'm sorry, it must have been a hard time for you.

Simon: I never had a good relationship with my Dad, he used to call me a pansy, or a fairy, he never really accepted me, I don't miss him at all. Once in a while he tries to contact me, says that he loves me unconditionally.

JJ: No wait, I can see it now, you're very impressionable, needs somebody to listen, I'm sure I can listen, carry on, Simon, carry on.

Simon: You're the first one of Zoe's setups that has ever left an impression on me, all the rest hated me, thought I was too sensitive, self-centred, that they could never care for me. I just need that someone, I've always been fragile, my thoughts are dangerous and my depression doesn't help, I wonder if I can ever be truly happy, I wonder if someone could be able to put up with me for that long.

JJ: If I could maybe see you in person first, like a trial run, what do you say Si, let me take you out on a date?

Simon: I think that would be a brilliant idea! You're calling me Si already? Bit clingy don't you think?

JJ: Maybe clingy is a good thing, Si.

JJ: So more facts?

Simon: Oh, my friend Vik does YouTube and I sometimes help him out with that.

JJ: No way, I help Josh with his YouTube sometimes, maybe us meeting was fate.

Simon: Maybe, so my height is 6ft, 2.

JJ: Does that mean you're lanky? Omg Si is lanky, I'm dying.
