Lost in Tokyo

Richard walks me out and said my goodbye. "Maine."

"Yes?"

"Is it possible to see you again before you leave?"

"I'd like that."

I gave him a hug and then I got his phone and put my phone number. "Here's my number. Let me know what the plans are."

I caught up with Coleen and Niki and dangle my arms in Coleen's arm with a smile on my face.

"Ano yan? Kadiri ka. Kinikilig ka na parang teenager."

"Pabayaan mo ako! Kill joy ka parati!"

Our fight gets cut off by my phone ringing. An unknown number is calling.

"Maine, 7pm tomorrow. I'll pick you up in your hotel. Dress up nicely. I'll take you to dinner." The guy on the other line said.

"Huh? Where? Richard? It's only been five minutes and you're calling?

"It's a surprise. See you, beautiful." And the line gets cut.

Coleen let's go of my arm, "hoy, teh! Wag masyadong choosy! Ayan na oh! Arte mo."

"Coleen, wag kang bitter. Pabayaan mo na si Meng," Niki interrupts. "Basta Meng. Ingat ka lagi. He seems like a good guy naman and bonus na bet siya nila parentals."

When we got to the hotel, the receptionist stops me. My mind starts to wonder why she was calling me. I didn't lose anything, did I?

"Ms. Mendoza. There are packages for you."

"Packages?"

"Yes. Fans have been sending you packages." He hands me boxes and paper bags from fans who found out where I stayed. "And then there's this one... it might break so I set it aside."

"What?"

He hands me a bouquet of yellow and pink carnations and peonies. He also said he was a fan.

I open the card, "M, I'm sure you get all kinds of gifts so I'm sending you flowers instead. See you tomorrow at 7. Can't wait. R."
