Alec walked down the stairs, into the foyer of the castle. When Magnus left, he changed into something more appropriate. Plus when Izzy said, he looked like he ran a marathon, she wasn't wrong. Alec laughed to himself just thinking about it. About Magnus. Ugh. He would rather be watching his boyfriend sew something together, than be here right now. Alec saw Aline from down the hall. His mom was right, she was pretty, but he knew that already. Alec had met her last year, around the same time. He met her at his mothers Christmas party, she throws every year. That when the whole plan to have them get marry started. Both his and Aline's mothers started telling the people they were in love and dating, and all that publicity junk. When is actuality, Alec' had actually never had a conversation with her. Alec walked towards her, she smiled warmly at him.
"Alexander!" She greeted him, with a kiss on the cheek. "It has been too long."
"It has." he lied. "How have you been, Aline?"
"Very well, and yourself?"
"Never been better." Of course he didn't mean at this very exact moment. He was talking about Magnus. "Shall we?" Alec asked holding his arm out for her. She graciously took his arm, and he lead her on a walk of the castle.
"I know this marriage is soon, Alexander, but I think we can make things work between us. I don't want you to think you can't trust me, or talk to me. I will be your wife soon, and I want to be someone you can confide in."
"I mean this in no offence, Aline, but do you even want to marry me?" She looked at him as if he had stabbed her through the heart.
"Of course I do. Don't you?"
"Yes." Alec said through his teeth. "Anyways," he tried to change the subject. "is there anywhere specific you would like me to show you?" Aline paused and thought about it.
"I want to meet your staff! I want to meet your maid, and your cook, and you guards! Everyone!" Alec could help but laugh at her excitement to meet the staff. He quickly regretted it, when he noticed she took it as a sign of flirting. Alec, cleared his throat, and straightened his back. He walked her down to the basement, and introduced her to the kitchen staff, who she talked to for half an hour. She loves to bake, and would love to be able to come work with them on her visit. At least the kitchen staff have more trust in her, then with Isabelle. Izzy would burn the place down. Then she meet Jace, who worked with training the guards.
"That's it down here." Alec said, as he veered her in the direction of the stairs.
"What about that room?" Aline asked, pointing to the room across from the training room.
"Oh, you wouldn't want to go in there. Those are just the designers. They're busy working on the Princess' and Queen's dresses for the ball. We shouldn't bug them." Alec said, obviously avoiding the room, but Aline was stubborn.
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind me just looking at their designs." With that, Aline pulled Alec towards the door. She knocked on it.
"Come in." Clary shouted from inside the room. Aline walked in, followed by Alec.
"You highnesses." Clary, and Magnus greeted them. Aline smiled, and went to look at what Clary was working on. Alec looked over at Magnus, who just winked at him, and went back to work. Alec blush. He went over to him.
"Those are just as beautiful as the one you drew in the shop."
"No they're not. They're quite ugly." Magnus said, holding the sketches up to the light. Magnus' placed the papers back down.
"Why are they not as nice?" Alec asked confused. Magnus looked over his shoulder at Aline, who Clary was purposefully keeping her distracted.
"Well, if you want to know so badly." He whispered. Magnus beckoned for Alec to move in closer, as if they were going to tell each other secrets. "The one's I drew in New York, were inspired by you." Alec blushed, again.
"Really?"
"The colour scheme is blue and black, just like your hair and beautiful eyes." Alec giggles. He places a hand on Magnus'.
"That's a wonderful secret. I'm glad I inspire you. I've got to go." Alec said noticing Clary couldn't distract Aline for much longer.
"If you must." Magnus said. Alec took one quick glance at Aline, who was engrossed in a sketch, and quickly pecked Magnus on the lips. It was a shock to Magnus, who wasn't expecting, such a risk full display of affection, but he still smiled. Alec walked back over to the door.
"Aline?" Alec called. The Princess looked up, and walked back over, taking his arm again, and saying goodbye to Clary and Magnus.
"I can see now why you didn't want me going in there." She said.
"You do?" Alec gulped. Did she see him kiss Magnus?
"Of course. Anyone with eyes can see it."
"Aline, I can explain—"
"You obviously wanted to keep those talented people hidden away. No wonder your sister and mother are always dress so classy. Those are very talented people, you shouldn't share them with anyone." Aline, patted his hand. Alec was just received she didn't see their kiss.
