ROSS' POV:
It's been 9 days since Jess and Spencer broke up. Jess still isn't over it. We finally got her to come to our concerts again a couple days ago, wen she goes out she puts a smile on her face and I almost believe she's ok, but the second we get back she changes into sweats and bawls her eyes out. She has days where she hates everyone and she has days where she's really needy. Today she was needy.
We were flying back to California from Ireland for another month break until we start touring Canada. Today Jess replaced her Sweatpants for black leggings and a Rolling Stones knit sweater I gave her for her birthday a couple years ago. She brushed her hair today and put it in a ponytail. She had more makeup on then usual because she felt that all of her crying made her look ugly. If only she knew how beautiful she actually was. Right now she was sitting next to me on the airplane with her head on my shoulder, her arms wrapped around my arm. Her eyes were closed, her long eyelashes touching her cheek.
"Ross." She said quietly, she had a slight smile on her face. It was almost like everything was back to normal, that Jess was happy.
"Yeah?"
"Can I stay with you guys when we get back to California?"
"Of course you can!" I answered.
"Thanks." Her smile fell "cause I don't actually have an apartment anymore and my dad doesn't want me staying with them and I guess I can't say with Spencer anymore." As she talked she gradually got faster and faster until I was sure she was going to have a panic attack.
"Shhh Jessie." I soothed "Jessie it'll be ok."
"H-how do you know?" She cried.
"Because you've got me." I looked down at her "You'll always have me, I'll never leave you." Jess wrapped her arms awkwardly around my neck and pressed her body as close to mine as she could while sitting in the uncomfortable airplane seats.
"I love you Ross." She said.
"I love you too." I sighed. It hurt that she didn't love me in the same way. She loved me as a sister would love a brother and I loved her like how Romeo loved Juliet. Neither of us said anything for a minute.
"Jess?" I whispered. No answer. I looked down at my shoulder to see that Jess had fallen asleep. She was breathing slowly and deeply. The small smile had returned to her face and she looked at peace. "Have a good sleep Jessie." I craned my neck and kissed her forehead. I let my lips linger on her cool skin for a second. Letting the joy it made me feel sink in, if only they were on her lips. My eyes glanced down to her mouth. Her puffy, pink lips almost calling me towards them. I almost gave in, almost. I immediately removed my lips from her acne less forehead and turned to look the other direction. I made eye contact with the woman across the isle. She looked about my Mom's age, with brown hair and glasses.
"She's very pretty." The woman smiled. I looked back at Jess.
"Yeah." I said "Yeah she is."
"You guys make such a good couple."
"Thanks." I didn't correct her. For right now I was going to pretend. I was going to pretend that Jess was mine, that she loved me in the same way that I loved her.
A/N IM SO SORRY THAT THIS IS SO SHORT, I JUST WANTED TO UPDATE SO YOU GUYS WOULDNT HATE ME FOREVER.
